Why do you all want to go to UC Davis?
@momofNASAnerd It is frustrating. I wonder and worry about this, too. We haven’t committed to anywhere yet because my student isn’t all that happy with the choices she has. Now, I read somewhere at one college (a Cal State she is considering) the housing is first come, first served so now I even wonder if she will get housing/good housing if she chooses that one since we will be SIR so late (this weekend she has to make a decision) to the school if it is the one she chooses.
@momofNASAnerd we have not yet accepted anywhere else yet; this weekend she needs to decide something! My student is starting to warm up to the choices she has if Davis doesn’t come through. Good luck to everyone.
@RedwoodForest many colleges have guaranteed housing for freshmen; you can check before you SIR (ITE). But yeah, she may not get her first choice. My daughter just applied for housing a couple nights ago, so we’re right there with you.
So I decided after getting into Irvine that I would remove myself from the waitlist at Davis, but I forgot to. It’s not too late to remove myself, right?
@ucAdmirer you can still remove yourself. What was your major you got waitlisted for if you don’t mind me asking
@davis262736 I got waitlisted for mechanical engineering.
Major: Civil Engineering
SAT: 1160
ACT: 20
Extra-Curriculum: Pretty Amazing and Well Rounded
Essays: No one checked, but were descent.
Waitlist Essay: No one checked, but would say is descent as well.
Hope this makes you feel better about yourselves and your children, I’m going to need all the luck I can get!! Good luck to everyone!!
@monk00: UC GPA?
Does anyone know if now, since it’s may 1, we can see how many people SIRed to Davis? Then we can see how many spots they might have open.
Major: Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior
SAT: 1440
UC GPA: 4.16
Extra-Curriculars: pretty good
Essays: decent
Waitlist Essay: pretty good
I’m really hoping I get off the waitlist
bruh when are waitlists gonna be out
I’m getting impatient…and nervous. I want to know when the decisions will be out!
IM SO IMPATIENT CAN THEY COME OUT ALREADY IT’S MAY 2ND
The portal says waitlist decisions may be out as late as June 30th. Hopefully its not that long…
my college counselor said that they usually do 2 waves, a first one in may and then a second one in june based off of who has accepted their waitlist acceptance from may as well as if anyone who was committed to davis ended up SIR to another school
@cutiepie679 And when is the “May wave” usually? Hopefully the first few days of May?!
usually the first wave is a couple days after decision day (May 1st)
Last year there were three waves just in the month of may which lead me to think there will be more than 1 wave in may this year as well. And lest year June was kept mostly for transfer students.
It’s UC Davis or JC for my daughter. Keeping our fingers crossed. Our neighbor was notified on May 7th last year.
