Official UC Irvine Fall 2017 Transfer Applicant Thread

I wonder if u didn’t get a response if that means ur less likely to get in ? Do u guys think it’s better just to wait for an email(do they send emails) telling me if I get accepted instead of checking the ports every other hour

@college2345 I think decisions come in batches, so I wouldn’t worry too much if you didn’t get accepted just yet. You will get an email for your decision, but I’d check the portal once every now and then.

Got accepted from TAG!
Major: Pharmaceutical Sciences
GPA: 3.85
IGETC: will be done by this semester
EC: Research project with my cc, Western Science Center, and UCSD. I work as well.
I’m in my cc’s honors program. Don’t know much about this “honors-to-honors” thing people are speaking of.
Tagged UCI, but I applied to UCI, UCSD, UCSB, and UCR as well.
I received the emails yesterday. First one was about some application status update that wouldn’t even appear on my portal… received that around 5 am. The following email was a “congratulations” message at around 7 pm. Then finally the banner appeared on my portal around 10 pm. The system may be slow since they’re sending things in batches. I have friends who still haven’t heard back yet, but probably within this week or so we should hear some response. Congratulations to everyone and good luck to all others!

Last few years they released Regents then H2H then TAG then General then Waitlist then Rejected.

what is the usual acceptance rate for UCI transfers?

this is probably the best breakdown of colleges and majors @UChopeful95

@college2345 I don’t think that you have to refresh the portal every hour. You can check daily if that helps ease your anxiety. I think their emails are being sent arbitrarily except for the first few since we applied through H2H or TAG.

Do you think it’s too late to change my major from English to Comparative Lit? I’ve fulfilled the requirements for both of them, but I’m seeing that it’s a lot easier to get in as a Comp lit major now, and I’m desperate to get into this school :frowning:

@UChopeful95 I think at this point it is too late to change it to get into the school but once you get accepted, it is easier to change to Comparative lit

So apparently I was not a TAG student but a Honors to Honors lol. I got an email around 4 yesterday saying I got into the H2H program, so long as this last semester of mine at a CC ends with a GPA of above a 3.7. They also said there is an information meeting on the 22 in April, and I’m going to be a moderator for the HTCC on the 1st. This H2H email ended up in my “promotions” list in gmail but they said another email will be coming for us to RSVP, so be sure to check that if you are also an H2H student that got admitted. I would I also love to hear what to expect from anyone that has done an HTCC conference before. Hope to see any other H2H people at the meeting!!!

Should Transfers expect an update today, or is it just freshmen?

@futurelawyer88 For sure Freshman, not sure if transfers will. The expected date is April 21.

Just got accepted into Business Economics through TAG. I’m just waiting on the rest of the admissions to come out in late April, but are there any dates/events coming up I should keep in mind as a prospective admit?

@mellieator Congrats! What other schools did you apply to?
As far as UC’s go, UCSC should begin tonight (March 17). UCSB should be March 21 and rolling after.
UCD, UCLA, UCI, and UCSD are expected to be on April 21. Berkley is expected to be on April 28.

Anyone going to UCI Celebrate day? I just booked my flight…

@starrysaraa Yeah I’m going for sure, it’s pretty much my top choice school.

Congrats to all who got accepted! Sorry I came late into the discussion, but is anyone here an out of state who applied?

Well the portal is down right now, but I suspect it’s is only an update for the Freshman applicants (possibly rest of TAG too). Who knows

Guys! Off the UCI Admissions Facebook Page:

“Transfer students will start to be notified of their admission status beginning in April.”

@Nataliee177 Good to know, thank you! I’ve been following the high school students’ page 2021 applicants and everyone is freaking out over there. Admissions are supposed to roll in for them today. Kind of glad I’m not apart of that crazy process yet haha
