thanks @shooguu
Are you a PSB or regular psychology applicant? I’m in PSB that’s why I ask. Your GPA is on the lower end, but still you are strong in other areas. If you are a transfer I’d say it’s 6/10 you get in, that’s just based off what I remember about other gpas that made it, your ECs, IGETC. Your personal statements matter too. I say 60 percent because I think the odds are you get in, but you never know. I think anyone under a 3.4 is not a sure thing, and only TAG makes a 3.4 a sure thing. I got in with a 3.1 at the first application, and a 3.3 at fall follow up. I suggest you see if you can get into PSB if psychology doesn’t work out. Our program is more based on application of psychology vs research and academia.
Can someone tell me my chances? I applied this year for the upcoming fall

If our school is on a quarter system should we update our Winter 2017 grades on the Transfer Academic Update (TAU)? I have already submitted my TAU for my Fall quarter grades. And if I update my TAU again will it affect my admission chances?
Mt. San Antonio College Student
Major: Chemistry
Transfer GPA: 3.66
Major GPA: 3.64
I applied to UCI through TAG, and I was ACCEPTED! Will be applying for honors program before the winter session at UCI
Extra Curriculars: I volunteer for FARM L.A.
I also took courses at UCI through concurrent enrollment, and I passed. I have been told that helps your application.
I am in the STEM teacher program at my school, and we are closely affiliated with UCI.
I wrote my personal statement, but I did not have anyone looks at them.
At my community college, I have over 100 units. I have dropped classes with W’s numerous times for family issues. I have failed transferable courses. I retook the classes and received a better grade.
Just found out I got into UCSB as an English major, and this is a weird/almost pointless question but are UCSB and UCI acceptance rates pretty similar? I TAGGED, haven’t heard back, and I have a 3.34 gpa.
TAG requires a 3.4 I thought? Their acceptance rates are somewhere in this thread a few pages back I think is a link. They are similar, though I think uci is slightly more selective.karebear, good for you, I hope you get in, I bet you do.
Go on my admissions portal and send a message. I suggest updating uctap through summer.

Assist.org says that it’s not a requirement for students to finish major preparation before transferring (for this major), but I’m wondering if missing Man and Environment (BIO 105 at my campus) will hurt my chances of getting in. Also, does it matter to UCI that I’m finishing at a community college in three years (because of work) rather than two?
@UCBound96 About your last question, it shouldn’t matter how long you take, as long as you have enough units and major prep done with a good gpa, you’ll be fine! And from my asking my cc counselor, just the more major prep you have done, the more competitive you’ll be seen as. Schools you transfer want their students to graduate as soon as possible and rather choose students that finished their major prep so they can start their upperdivision courses right away, over students that are missing courses and have to take them along with sophomores, just because there’s limited space.
So does admissions start on Saturday and continue every day until April 30th?
I don’t think so. It’s probably following this. http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/counselors/files/campus-notification-schedule-2017.pdf
You will get in I bet, you have a high gpa and a 4.0 for psych classes, IGETC. That class won’t matter if IGETC is done. 3 years is how long CC takes most people.I’m a PSB, any questions feel free to ask, got your back player. You will be among the more competitive candidates, I bet. I got in with a 3.3, though my last 60 were As, still had a 3.3 and I know others who got in with gpas below yours. Once you get in the 3.7 area, I think for schools like social ecology or social sciences you are in for sure. The people who have trouble even with high gpas are applying to more engineering science type majors or business. Anyways, if you get into Ucla which you might, are you going?
I’m not sure how people get into art school, it’s a bad ass mini campus though. Anthro should be fine with your background, I bet you get in unless art school has some funky metrics to determine who gets in.
@darkarchang3l good luck on your presentation btw!
@sodapop111 On the uci website it says admissions are from April 1- April 30
will they release a batch tomorrow?
Since the website states that
@macknzie thank you!!! I will need lots of it lol
gonna make the script and then finish the prezi >~<
Hey, guys got accepted into UCI business school around 3/14 and was looking at this thread for the first time. Saw you guys curious about the Regents Scholar awards… Turns out I am a regent scholar and it shows up when you log in on the myadmissions page. Don’t know how long it’s been like this, but it’s up for at least me.
