Official UC Irvine Fall 2017 Transfer Applicant Thread

@TransferCS I’m worrying about this too. I applied the same major (CS) but I only have GPA 3.57 . I will finish the major requirement by spring ( two calculus, two programming languages) by spring. I TAGed UCI, but I don’t see any difference between regular and TAG applicants. I already got rejected by UCSB and UCM!! One class missing from IGETC. I’m afraid none will admit me! :(( Since UCM rejected, I’m totally lost the confidence. :((

@CaffreyH what class are you missing from IGETC?

@abbcrig12 in my cc , Bio2.(no lab)

damn man, 3.57 GPA and UCM rejected. I guess IGETC matters more. goodluck, wish me a luck I have 3.37…

@TransferCS I guss I didn’t finish the classes that UCM required is the main reason. They side those classes must be finished period to transfer. CS major requirements are so different in each UC campuses. It’s hard to finish them all! I just hope TAG can actually do something for the my application’s consideration .

@TransferCS Wish you the best and we could be classmates. :))

I know, I went with UCI’s plan and I have every class that UCI requires. I also had TAG but unfortunately, my TAG app and the original app didn’t match because I couldn’t find computer science in TAG app so I applied as computer engineer but in my original app I applied as computer science. so basically I lost my TAG, as my UCI counselor said.
For the Tag students, they sent the acceptance results around march 14, how come you didn’t receive anything?

Thanks man, you2. hahaha let’s take classes together in UCI, if we get accepted …

@TransferCS I don’t know, my friends who TAGed UCI as well didn’t receive anything. I heard the person who got decision at mid-march is H2H program.

that’s weird, all of my frnds who TAGed they got acceptance

@TransferCS Maybe they gonna reject my app??

if you did everything for TAG’s requirement you should be fine

@TransferCS I think i did. I have 2 calculus, 2 programming(1 year programing),2 English, GPA is higher than 3.4. I finished two English classes and at least one math by 2016 summer. However, I was worried since I took one class at UCI summer session and two classes at UCLA extension, but I asked my school counselor, they called UCI and was told it won’t be a problem for my TAG.
However, I haven’t hear anything from UCI yet . I’m afraid they won’t give the admission because as you said a lot people who taged, they already got in!

@CaffreyH just curious, which 2 programming classes did you take?

@shooguu I took C,C++, python . Also thinking to take java, but not enough time. Probably in summer.

no dude, then you are definitely accepted.

@CaffreyH were any of these courses intro classes?

@shooguu In my CC( semester), there is only one class for each programming language. I don’t know whether is intro or advance. It doesn’t say. There is no other classes for the same programing language. Only other option is structure class like c++ data structure . Why? I don’t remember UCI requires whether advance or intro classes.

Check assist, it should say intro course don’t meet the requirements

@shooguu I think by that, it means the Courses in Visual Basic and C, or in my CC , there is class call “INTRODUCTION TO COMPUTER SYSTEMS”. Even on assist, UCI recommend to take CS 55 which is called “JAVA Programming”. I asked the Consular in
My cc. They actually told me to take these classes.
