<p>Well… “Must” is a very strong word. TAG guarantees you admission to the university, but not to any specific residential college or major. TAG does not require you to complete any major’s preparation requirements.</p>

<p>Now, at UCSD, only a few majors are impacted (the biology-related majors), and historically, it has been very rare for a student to be accepted under TAG and not get into their major and into either their first or second choice residential college.</p>

<p>As to your specific question: No, it’s not required to complete every major prep requirement. Missing one will not result in an automatic rejection. However, you definitely should, in case the number of applicants in a particular year vastly exceeds the number of openings. Completing all of the prep requirements, especially with high grades, mades you that much more competitive.</p>
