^ HOLY CRAP you applied to like 30 schools?!?! I applied to Harvard (deferred SCEA), Princeton, Columbia, Penn (likely), UChicago, Northwestern, WashU (wait listed), and UMiami. Don’t think a wait list from WashU necessarily means dooms for all your higher/more reachy schools. They really engage in yield protection.

Barnard (deferred)
Binghamton (accepted)
Brown
Colgate (denied)
Drew

Macaulay Honors College
Northeastern (deferred for reasons unknown lol)

I also don’t believe I will be accepted. It would be a miracle. My sats are decent but not high enough to even be competitive. But I love the school and made sure I made that clear in my app and interview.

@luv2Dance: Haha! I know. I think I’ve outdone myself. I started the admissions process in December and wrote about 12 supplements during that month. It wasn’t until Christmas when I finalized the CommonApp essay. What a time that was! Full of sleep-deprivation and anxiety.

Wow. I feel really weak. I applied to WashU(rejected), Carleton, American University, Georgetown, UChicago(deferred), and a few other safeties. I honestly don’t know which way my decision will go. I have average stats, great interest, great essays & recs. I just wish it was Friday.

@nebraskagal: I feel the same way. My stats are great minus the 2030 SAT score. My interest is poor (although they can hardly expect me to visit or attend any event because I’m an international student, they also don’t offer interviews in Pakistan), my recs and essays are very good.

The main concern is that I’m not very well rounded. I’ll have to overcompensate for the flaws in my application - SAT’s and interest with other stats and essays/recs. This leaves me doubting myself and the whole application…

I’m going to be at Villanova for a 3 day interview program when the decision comes out… “Hey, can you guys hold on one sec while I check a decision for a different school?” lol

I’m (unfortunately) joining the crowd of those who did not get into WUSTL but are still hoping for UChicago!

I was wait-listed at WUSTL, so I guess that’s slightly better than a flat-out rejection, but still rather disappointing…

UChicago is probably my first choice though (either them or Princeton), and I think I showed a lot more interest in them than WUSTL, plus had a great interview and some quirky essays… so I’m still hoping!

Vermont (accepted, $$)
Michigan (accepted)
Minnesota (accepted, $$$$)
Princeton (accepted)

but I’m excited to hear from chicago!

FYI I was waitlisted at WUSTL and accepted at Chicago EA. My friend got into Princeton and was waitlisted at WUSTL. They were really big on interest this year because they want to increase their yield… neither of us went to an interview or visited or did anything like that. Also they are not need-blind… so if you filled out financial aid that could be an additional reason, many get confused because they meet 100% of financial need but they aren’t need blind haha.

Basically don’t freak out, nothing you can do now. Just be excited!

^ Favorite post of the day ;)

Make sure to come find me and thank me in person when you enroll at UChicago next year :)

I’m wondering is there anybody from Taiwan got an interview?
I requested for one in the beginning of Jan., but wasn’t contacted by anyone.
Just a little bit anxious.
