Every school is my top choice.

^ Yeah, that’s kind of my thought. I know I’ll love wherever I end up… I’d like to think I did pretty good research and only applied to schools that would be a good fit for me. My problem is I applied to way too many, because there were aspects of each that seemed perfect for me and I couldn’t bear to strike any off the list. So it goes…

^ Lol I feel the exact same way. I guess that’s what happens when you only apply to the best schools in the country. Beggars can’t be choosers
I’d be happy to go anywhere as long as they’re not stingy with the finaid lol

Love all my schools. All of them have perf aid.
≧﹏≦

Yup, my decision is for sure going to be based on fin aid offers. Such is the life of the middle class. Hopefully I qualify for something decent (we’re around the 100k bracket, I think - not nearly enough to pay for two kids in school, but too much to get fabulous aid).

Chicago is fantastic with aid (crosses fingers), I got 42k estimated grants. And I’m pretty middle-class, although definitely affected by recession. I’ve heard that they are only going to go up as well, as Chicago is trying to divert more money towards finaid to poach some applicants from other top schools. Of the people I talked to about finaid when I visited, all of them were pretty satisfied, and quite a few had their aid go up (from freshman year if they were sophomores). It’s nice to have a bunch of top schools that meet 100% and are need-blind.

@CSIHSIS if you got into your top choice, why’d you apply anywhere else?

JUST found out the decisions come out in 5 days -__- i thought it was going to be end of march/beginning of april like the ivies…i think i was better off not knowing this. now i’m nervous, dammit. seriously sucks to not have a smartphone on days like decision dates.

how are the admitted students’ stats usually like? anyone?

@annabanana, they’re generally pretty freaking good. You can have a look at the EA thread to see profiles of students who have been accepted this year, or check out the College Board website if you’re interested in the numbers. Middle 50% SAT scores are around 700-800 for each section.

Those stats are scary…

At least, when I talked with an adcom, they said that the SAT writing is not considered when they calculate your index.

I got a 1600 XD I am the 75th percentile :D

^ nice! Math was my low score… But I have a 1560 lol so all is well

@CSIHSIS if you got into your top choice, why’d you apply anywhere else?

My mom made me, so I did Harvard and UChicago. At least I dropped off like four schools though.

I only got a 1220. I’m terrible at math. I’m just hoping my essays, gpa, and ecs will save me as well as my interview and reccs. My sat is the only bad thing on my app. -.-

Ehh…

I got a 32 on my ACT, didn’t take the SAT.

i got a 34 on my ACT and didn’t bother sending in my SAT. i’m a bit nervous on the outcome because my supplement essay was really sarcastic (i chose to write about the arch nemesis one). i’m a pretty sarcastic person so i just took a shot and wrote how i talk. idk if that was a smart decision or not…haha

I got a 31. Meh. Couldn’t even retake.

Heard the lowest ACT they accepted this year was a 25 or 26? Man…

Is that 87.7 on a 4-point scale?

;)

Yeah but your ACT score is ridiculous. lol

So Friday our results come out? How do we view the decision?
