and @alexissss I watched last year’s UChicago webcast yesterday and the admissions counselor in it said that the lowest ACT score they admitted to the class of 2016 was a 22…

Wat.

What kind of developmental athlete female Native American black found the cure for cancer is an orphan living in a third world country…

Probably the same first gen legacy student whose parents bought Booth.

Did any deferred EA Uchicago folk on this thead get accepted to Caltech RD??

If any of you are curious, the lowest GPA accepted to the class of 2016 that I’ve heard about was 2.5 unweighted.

lowest for anything is pretty much bs. they’re just outliers. gives relief i know, but i don’t want to get caught up on false hope :l i’d rather look at highest for something.

What was the lowest SAT score? And don’t the have a holistic view of the application anyway?

Lol. Native American black. What the hell is that? I’m black by the way so… -.-

Yes they evaluate applications holistically, which is why a few people with sub-30 ACTs and sub-1350 CR+M are admitted. Holistic admissions only means that there are no cutoffs and that different components of people’s applications hold different weights based on their circumstances but it doesn’t erase “bad” scores. According to UChicago’s website the lowest SAT score for admitted students was a 1230 on a 1600 scale and the lowest ACT was a 24 (the 22 I mentioned above might be wrong then :/)…

@Kdavs: A Native American and African American decide to have a kid together?

I’m on the lower end for SAT if I don’t factor in Writing… 2280 composite, but only a 1480 CR+M. UW GPA is 3.89, W GPA is somewhere astronomical, like 4.5+ or something. Freshman year was the only year I had zero honors classes, then went up to like half my courseload sophomore year, then 5/7 of junior year, and finally full weighted classes senior year.

any fellow Aussies awaiting for Friday? (Saturday our time)

3 daysssss

Of course they had to announce it the week of my finals. All of my teachers know I’m completely checked out

@alexiss I’m dyin! That was hilarious and now everyone in calc is staring at me…but that’s okay.

And UChicago’s rather strange. Acceptances are the epitome of enigmatic simply because they reflect the complex soul of the school. They know exactly who/what they are looking for when reviewing.

@nebraskagirl I find out a couple hours after taking my last final of third term, after which grades lock, honestly the only thing that’s been getting me through the last couple months is swimming and water polo. I’m kinda done.

@soxfan9595 I know that feel. I’m currently in all AP classes so even if I get straight Bs I can still pull off a 4.0. I’m in that awkward moment where I can strive for a higher grade or just settle for a B.

@ishfromaus
Kind of a half-aussie? I lived there for half my life and hold an aussie passport, but I go to school in the states, and my parents work in asia…

Got 2 acceptances under my belt, but Uchicago’s my first choice.
Less than 70 hrs…

dem feels
welcome to feels inc

@ram

LOL All jokes, all jokes. xD

Yea, their process is cloudy. I hope it works for me?

@ishfromaus a fellow aussie student here!

I hope theyre looking for my soul!! U of Chicago is definitely my dream school!!!
