So my regional counselor just called me to let me know if I want, I can get off the waitlist by accepting a guaranteed admission to class of 2018, and take a gap year next year. Wassup with this?
Do you think they could give me an official financial aid offer before I commit to get off the waitlist?

^did she email you first? I’ve already emailed my regional counselor my letter of interest but I didn’t get a reply back on my waitlist status or anything. Did anyone else get contacted about their waitlist status?

@Country20. Congratulations! You have been offered a rare Z-list acceptance. If you have already filed for financial aid I don’t see why you will not be able to get your financial offer…but, remember it will be based on 2012 FAFSA…and it may change for fiscal 2014-2015 academic year that you will matriculate depending on your parents income tax returns.

I think the administration is realizing that not many will be getting off the waitlist this year or in future years due to the increasing popularity and yield of the accepted students. If Chicago truly remains your top choice, I would not hesitate to take this slot before they offer it to someone else like zhstkdblackbelt…

@Country20 - I am waitlisted…2380 SAT and Perfect GPA…I emailed to my regional counselor and no update so far…

@zhstkdblackbelt - No email or call from counselor.

I’ve kept in touch with my counselor and she told me about a week ago that they haven’t taken anyone off the waitlist as of yet and they don’t know yet whether they will even go to waitlist but you never know what can happen in a week’s time…

@zhstkdblackbelt There’s a guy on the admitted students facebook group who just got in off the waitlist…

In fact there are at least 2 students on the admitted students group who got off the waitlist.
