Yeah, I found out through Facebook.

Seems like adcom didn’t send out notification email to anyone. I haven’t received one neither.

If you look at their site (Uncommon Blog) it says all EA will get an email Tue afternoon to check the decisions that will posted on your account. Everyone will get the email directly to your inbox stating this tomorrow.

Is this the first year they haven’t sent emails out letting us know when decisions will be coming out?

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN FIND “LATE AFTERNOON” ON A CLOCK?

thanks :)

I dont know, but i would consider late afternoon to be 4-5pm CT

@MDNeuroHopeful: If you don’t mind me asking, where else are you applying? I’ll be applying to Stanford, Princeton, Carnegie Mellon, Johns Hopkins, and the U of Minnesota myself.

@CaptainKrunch MIT, UVA and UMD early action (and chicago obviously)
bowdoin, princeton, williams and cornell regular decision
if i dont get into chicago or mit early i still have to wait months before i hear from another one of my top schools :/

UVA early doesnt come out til late january for some reason

Oh god I’m so nervous I feel like I’m gonna vomit…the 18th…

UVA is new to the Early Action process and they get a lot of early action applicants.

aahhhh right on the first day of finals!

I know UChicago’s admissions chart says that special talents are considered “very important” in the admissions process, but does anyone know if creative writing counts as a talent? This is, of course, providing the writer is any good.

I know it’s not like a sport or instrument or anything, but I submitted a creative writing supplement and am just wondering if (assuming it’s any good. It’s hard to tell as I can’t be objective) it could help out my application.

I hope creating the first High school south asian a cappella group counts as a special talent… or placing 2nd in the TiE Young entrepreneurs business plan competition… or having an MIT lab internship over the summer… or being part of the 2nd best chess team in the state…

Cuz i need something to make up for my 4.0 out of 5.0 GPA -_-

dyingofanticipation… I know my whole break will be depressing though if I didn’t get in lol

Do the EA decisions usually come out much later than the ED’s? Would applicants admitted by their ED’s open up some space for more EA applicants to get admitted? I doubt that is the case; anyone have a clear answer?

Hey guys,
Im an international from Macedonia and a deferred from Columbia. I’ve been following this blog since its inception but decided to join with the conversation now…

What do you think the outcome will be for you?! Denied/Deferred/Accepted?!

I’ll most likely get deferred. While my stats are lower than the average uchicago applicant, I do have other qualities that they might appreciate… but I don’t think enough to admit me.
I really don’t want to get deferred though… uchi is my dream school.

620 math sat 800 cr
~3.7 gpa
so deferred.
I think despite that, I’m the kind of student they’re looking for and who would succeed there. My saving grace would be that that came through in my essays. I also work as a photographer and am accomplished in that field.

680M, 780CR here.
~96/100 gpa. (not sure on 4.0 scale)
I’m thinking either deferred or denied for me, because my essays were not very good. I did have an interesting common app essay though. And an arts supplement.
