Let me tell you, I put in 50+ hours on my MIT application. I did everything, I slaved over my essays, I did 2 art supplements, I created a website to display some of my projects, everything. I thought that with my background, story, college math classes and interests I would have a good shot.<br>
I still got deferred. </p>
<p>Sometimes admissions is weird and there’s a HUGE subjectivity factor to all of this. don’t feel that you are not good enough or some crap like that because it’s simply not true. there is only so much a piece of paper can represent you /as a person/. if you try hard and show your passion through your application, everything will come out all right. :)</p>
<p>What an awful week. Deferred from both my top choices. Put all I had into Chicago, guess it wasn’t enough. What is it they say about trying times? Really doubting everything right now.</p>

Ugh, I have a 4.4 GPA and am a National Merit semifinalist. I guess they either had too many applicants already or they didn’t like my essays much.</p>
