To those rejected/deferred, I was flat out rejected to Columbia ed. I was accept with merit money, so just because you did not get in here does not mean that every other top school will reject you. Don’t stop believing!!!

I was accepted. I am in shock.

I can’t check. too scared too. does the homepage look any different? So I can mentally prepare myself

Rejected by Northwestern. Rejected by University of Michigan. Rejected by University of Chicago. I’m still pretty optimistic…but this is getting ridiculous.

Hey, I was accepted but hadn’t turned in my financial aid forms. If I turn in the forms later can I still be considered of aid?

Can anyone tell me if the homepage looked an different for those who were accpeted?

Accepted!!! How do we see financial aid decision??

SHHSEL, no, the home page does not look any different. You have to click a separate link to see your decision (once you log in).

The financial aid link is at the bottom of the acceptance letter. I don’t see any mention of a merit scholarship in there, so I guess my daughter didn’t get one!

Thank you, mamabear1234

CJohnH, I didn’t want to say so earlier in case I was wrong, but I have been SURE you would be accepted. Even laughed to myself when you started the rejection thread… congratulations!

Congrats everyone!

I’m in!!! Pleasure to meet potential fellow classmates.

Congratulations to those accepted!!

For those of you who said you received merit money, was it really merit or was it need-based financial aid?

Holy cr#p man. I would often check on these forums and see these “chance me” threads where a student 10000 times more qualified than me is worrying like if these colleges are only searching for perfectionists. man, i love learning but im not some genius. I truly hope all of those students with those colossal gpas got in, but right now im just happy to say that I was accepted. Man, im pretty happy. now i just got to sort out this financial aid junk.

My son has just been accepted after a deferral from Georgetown. Still can’t believe it.

Okay, THOSE OF YOU WITH QUESTIONS REGARDING FA:
Your financial aid estimated package includes merit aid. Both options (merit aid and need-based aid) are two separate, small links available once you log in and see your decision. If you can’t find it, just look, or you might be missing documents and don’t have a package yet.
If you applied for aid but have not finished the process of applying, you still can. Your package will simply come later.

I don’t have aid yet because of missing documents :/…

BUT IM IN SO IM HAPPY :)

What was the acceptance rate this year?

@magnentaturtle: same - office didn’t receive my stuff until a couple days ago.
They’re probably on break now too…

my dd was deferred … sort of sad, straight A all 5s on 5 APs 2390 SAT, SAT II range from 760-800 … 4 college classes all A …
…
