just out of curiosity, which question was her favorite? I made up my own (#5) but was tempted to do #3.

congratulations to everyone that got accepted and my deepest sympathies for all that weren't accepted. I was wondering how many of the accepted students are still waiting for their first choice colleges to get back to them, or how many of the accepted students got in ed elsewhere?

me is deferred.

I really, really want to just send the confirmation letter in right now; however, my parents still want me to submit other apps, just for the hell of it or so it seems. Chicago is by far my first choice...

Anyways. Now that i re-read it, my long essay was REALLY good and probably one of the best pieces of creative writing i've written. I also had an on-campus interview back in August, which i felt could have gone better, and i've stopped by the admissions building a few times since...

I'm excited. Guess i'll see some of you next year!

*General Comments: * I'm just happy to be deferred at the moment. Mediocre grades are never an excuse, even if you're internationally or nationally accomplished. Hopefully my good senior grades may be able to mitigate an overall mediocre gpa. Congratulations to all accepted, and good luck to all those deferred!

General Comments:
I'M SOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!

achillesls76-- that you got in with that CR score gives me hope. I'm happy to know that Chicago can overlook one mediocre SAT score, especially because the rest of your app seems excellent. Congrats to all of you who got in. And to those deferred: don't you give up yet!

Yeah. I think my essays, interview, and recommendations are what did it for me. So make sure they are good.

I still haven't gotten a letter yet... bad sign?

atomicfusion,

Since all the responses were mailed at the same time--acceptances, rejections, deferrals--, I don't think it has anything to do with your decision. It's more likely the Christmas mail. If it doesn't come today, I would call the admissions office and tell them it hasn't arrived although a week has passed. I don't know what they will do, but it is worth a call.

Things do get lost in the mail this time of year. My son applied to Emory RD in early December. He sent some supplementals by priority mail on December 7. As of today, they still haven't arrived (according to the post office tracking system) so they are presumably lost.

omG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOW THE HECK IS THIS POSSIBLE!!???!?!?

ok, so i got my deferral letter last wednesday..and today, I GOT MY ACCEPTANCE LETTER/PACKET!!!!!!!!!! what does this mean??? is this a CRUEL JOKE?....i e-mailed my counselor, but she's on maternity leave. But should I even worry, because I got in ED at Rice...and it's binding..

Why should you worry? Whether or not you got into Chicago, you'd still have to enroll at Rice...so it makes no difference.

well, you didnt have to be rude about it! and yes, i know what that face is...."rolleyes" uh huhn. how about this: gives you finger :)
