I have no idea about what they will approve gbanner, but I really like your stats. I’m basically from the same background, glad to see someone else … also in Psi Beta. So I hear the key is in the personal statements so that you can explain your growth and your experience, I ran mine by a UCI rep at my CC and it helped a lot, you can make an appointment with them at the transfer center. Your GPA is great and you came a long way, I think they would be missing out by not accepting you into the program. Out of curiosity what are you planning to do with school and for work down the road ?
I’m kind of conflicted. I am in my first year at a CSU but am considered a second year based on credits. After this school year, I will be considered a third year. However, CSUs credits are slightly different from UCs. For example, If you take AP Calc, you will get credits as long as you got at least a C, regardless of whether you took the actual AP test. According to the CSU, I will have over 60 credits by the end of the spring semester, but I’m not sure if the credits from taking AP Calc will transfer over. Without them, I will be just under 60 credits.
@gbanner There’s also a What are my chances forum under Discuss & Interact
@xryanevans I’ve never heard about anyone getting credits without passing the test. I would ask an admissions rep or someone from the transfer center from the school(s) you want to get into.
The application period starts tomorrow at 9 am … Hope you all have a happy Halloween
@BackNSchool83 thanks! My personal statements are very personal but I’ve run them by several people and they think they’re great. It will come down to them either loving me for my authenticity and honesty or be terrified. I think the latter has about a 20% chance. Down the road I want to go to medical school. I initially was thinking of becoming a psychiatrist, but I’m going to allow myself to experience medical school and even public health science before setting my mind on something. I’m a totally tactile learner so we will see!! What about you??
That’s inspiring, right on! I’m hoping the personal statements go like yours as well, and I’m working initially towards a BA in psychology then a MA in social work. I’m also working on an AOD certification that will be done about a the time I get my BA if all goes to plan. I want to work as a therapist.Well I got my fingers crossed for you, looking forward to hearing good news about your transfer.
Anyone applying for spring quarter?
My TAG was updated, for those who also TAGed here. They just reminded me to follow all of the TAG requirements, essentially.
I noticed that I made a flaw in inputting my coursework, but it seems rather minor. I’ll just make a note about it in my additional comments section of the application.
@goldencub by updated, you mean your TAG was accepted and approved?
@boxandwhiskers under “My TAG Status” it says “UC Response Posted”, they said I have submitted my TAG, and:
“UC Irvine does not provide early admission evaluation or early admission decisions as part of its TAG program. Once you apply to UC Irvine for transfer admission, we will review your TAG and notify you of your transfer admission status by the end of April. It is important to remember that in order to maintain your TAG eligibility, you must meet the following conditions…”
@goldencub Oh. okay. Hmm. Well that’s…good then. Dang, end of April sounds so far away.
@boxandwhiskers I’m sure it’ll be earlier than that, the Berkeley date is April 24th (but who knows if that’s subject to change).
@goldencub I thought the lady at the BCC workshop thing we were at said something about March 1st? Maybe it was for something else idk
@boxandwhiskers I forget. That may be when they start giving decision letters (or April 1?)
I got that same TAG response. The wait is going to kill me :((
My husband did too. booo waiting stinks :-w
I got the same response! It sucks we have to wait till April
Hey do you guys have a way of checking your application status? I am not getting anywhere with the application ID
@BackNSchool83 Your UC App status or UC TAG status? Go to UC TAP to check the Tag status
Nope the application status like the CSU portal. Just a place I can go for updates for information they need from me etc.
