I got the same amount but I did on campus (Especially Camino del Sol, Vista del Campo and Vista del Campo Northe, in that order) but heard off campus is literally the same cost (still undecided on which on campus housing to be in or just go off campus/studio apartment somewhere near Irvine), but I don’t think just 15,000 is enough to get by, I got my Net cost of almost $9,000 for the year, this is alot more than what Davis is expecting me to pay which is $3,800.00. Now I think about it Irvine is a expensive place but $9,000 is little too much to pay off…

isn’t the Gift Aid yours but do they take out $$$ for the blue and gold plan and housing automatically right? but UCI housing said we have to make the housing payment on our responsibility?

@LAforlife Yea i had my igetc and all pre-reqs done by spring (actually fall). Well its my 4th year now at a CC, and i have decided to go to Cal Poly Pomona now. Applied 3 straight years to irvine, i think its time to move on for me sadly

@backinthegame thanks man, i appreciate it really. makes me feel better too, you dont know how fast my heart was beating as my login page was loading for irvine…then disappointment lol…

CalPoly is a great school. My father-in-law went there and he’s a project manager for a few projects at JPL. My friend also went there and worked at Y&R. I know how you feel, I got rejected and I’m 35! Thought about calling and asking why?

@UCdrone do they actually give you the reason if you call? i havent really thought about doing that because if that was the case wouldnt they be getting thousands of calls daily? lol

Yep, April 30th & still “pending”
A friend told me that they let him know on may 11th last year! Isn’t it so unfair to keep us all waiting like this? He actually SIR’d to long beach because he thought he didn’t get in!

Good luck to everyone, hold onto your keyboards - maybe pending is still good news?

Is the UC Irvine Grant different than the Gold and Blue Plan? I also got the 15K grant but I still have about 9k in fees after the UCI grant. I want to know if the GB plan (plus cal grants) are not included in this UCI grant.

I received an email from them at 9, asking to clarify a class that I forgot to add on this years app but that was on last years app, I applied and was accepted into UCSB last year so they have all my info. Glad they checked, it was a math course required for my Soc major! But this just reinforces how on the fence they are about me finishing up my last year there. Sigh, hopefully we will all know soon!

@UCiUCi: As far as I understand, the Grant(from the school) makes up for the tuition cost if your Cal or Pell grant does not cover all of it. B&G ensures that your tuition is all covered. For me, my Cal and Pell from UCLA totals about 18k, so I only received 4k from the UCLA grant. I also qualify for B&G. I know someone who only received a Pell grant(roughly 5k-ish) and didn’t get a Cal grant, so the UCI grant gave them like 12k. So basically if you qualify for B&G, the school grant will make up for whatever you don’t get for Cal or Pell.

TO ALL STILL WAITING IN AGONY WITH ME!!
I called UCI admissions and they informed me that they are delayed because of so many applicants. So they said that all decisions will be posted by this Friday. I also asked her if we haven’t gotten our decisions does that mean its a rejection, and she has informed me that no it doesn’t mean that its a rejection. I EVEN ARRANGED A PARTY THIS WEEKEND lol, whether or not i make it wont matter on Saturday night. GOOD LUCK TO ALL!! and if you don’t make it FIGHT THE POWER!!!:)
