@ sweetlace: I think you’re only locked out for 30 minutes or something, according to this.

hey fellow uci transfers, ill see ya’ll this friday :)

Major: Mechanical Engineering
Alt: Materials Eng./Aerospace

Applied to:
UCLA (rejected)
UCI (accepted after very long long wait)
UCSD (accepted)

I was really surprised/sad I got rejected from UCLA, i have a 3.78 total and pretty much finished all my prereqs pre-transfer. I think they saw that my coursework was in preparation for UCI… UCLA was my 3rd choice anyways :E

I figured I’d get accepted at UCI first, but UCSD beat em to the punch-- My main reasons for not going to UCSD are 1. I picked the wrong college (revelle) 2. rent is expensive. But it makes me smile that I made it okay into an impacted/super-competitive major.

After all the drama had been settled, my friend and I were waiting on UCI. However that person TAG’d and still got rejected :(. It’s weird, they got accepted into UCLA (not into their preferred major) and got waitlisted on UCSD–So I guess fate says its time to part our academic ways.

In retrospect I’m glad I put in all the hard work to keep my GPA up for a relatively difficult sequence–I kinda wish I had applied to Berkeley and see if I would have gotten in. Who knows.

@alexajam my status is still unchanged too.

“We will notify you of our admissions decision as soon as it has been determined.”

Anyone else in the same boat? If anything changes, it’s your “home” page that changes right?

yep there will be a list pane of all the preconditions for admission, a congratulations banner, and a restatement of your status as an prospective transfer applicant; there are two buttons for intent to register and SLR

@buranka thanks! i’m guessing the front page changes for wait-listers and rejects as well? it’s pretty nerve-wracking to see nothing change this late. haha.

yeah, most likely; i received my acceptance on the 28th @ 4am in the morning (i randomly woke up around that time and decided to check it and bingo!) this was about 4 hours after my friend was rejected, however :(

@buranka aw bummer but congrats on you acceptance!
i was hoping i would see something after i slept but i guess not! here’s to waiting some more! i know admissions said they were HOPING to be done by today…

yes, worst case scenario is that they post it after you go to bed tonight… i hope everyone makes it in! go for broke!

@iced yeah the Waitlisted student starts off with stating that they filled up but since I was a good student they would like to offer me an admission if a spot opens. And there is a SIP button on the bottom to put you in the Waitlist spot

Waitlisted.

So I messaged uc irvine admissions facebook page asking (an hour ago):

Thanks for patiently evaluating all of us! I am a transfer student (Informatics major) and I have heard no word of my decision. I was wondering if this is normal and when will I know of my decision? Thank you!

Their response: Hi! You should find out within the next few days!

few days? wow hahaha. on a side-note, they responded to the message pretty quickly surprisingly.

Called Admissions and asked if failure to complete IGETC was a factor in my rejection. Answer: No, IGETC completion is not a factor. I must assume that if there was no missing documentation (there wasn’t), if I wasn’t asked to provide any additional information (I wasn’t), then I can failure to complete IGETC was not a factor in my rejection. Saw a comment on someone wait listed with a 3.11 in Crim, Law and Society (my major). I have a 3.17 (will go to 3.48 after academic renewal). I asked what the average GPA admit was for this year, and it’s not yet available. I’m sure they are getting tons of calls, but if I couldn’t have been wait listed then maybe I should just give up on UCI next year.

did anyone get in as business information management major so far I have only seen rejections :(

Waitlisted
GPA: 3.34
Major: Sociology

Surprised to see so much people waitlisted.

ucitransfer

Sorry for my earlier post, I think I fell for a ■■■■■ posting. I believe ucitransfer may be a ■■■■■.

To all admitted CONGRATULATIONS, and my fingers are crossed for all of you that are waitlisted. I’m sure, just as last year, that all waitlists will be admitted.

To all those admitted, make sure you don’t drop any pre-reqs during your last semester! I was recently accepted as a Business Information Management major under TAG but had to drop Calc II in the middle of the semester. Now, they have rescinded me under that major and I have to choose something I don’t want to major in. Basically, if you don’t finish Calc 1 and II there’s no way you can get into UCI as a business major!

Since UC SIR deadlines is June 1st and I have to wait until June 15 to wait and see if I’ve been admitted to UCI (since I’ve been waitlisted), should I just SIR to the UC I’ve been accepted to? I mean, what if I don’t get admitted into UCI despite being on the waitlist?

@ sweetlace: Just SIR to the UC that accepted you, and then IF UCI decides to accept you, you can withdraw your SIR from the UC that accepted you.

I received the e-mail at 3:00 am today

Status: Accepted
Major: Electrical Engineering
CCC GPA: 3.45
Personal Statement: Average
Prerequisites: Will complete by end of Spring 12
TAG: No
Extracurricular Activity: None

Is there a way to submit my Spring grades to the Admissions committee for review since I am wait-listed? My grades will be posted this Thursday and I will be getting a 4.0 this semester so I want the admissions committee to know that, does anyone know where to update this information?
