<p>I was at the UCI transfer day today and one of the admissions staff mention that UCI admitted 1,500 transfers this fall</p>

<p>only 1500 this year alone? this is the lowest out of the all the years for UC Irvine, from 6,000~ last year down to 1500 is a huge change (assuming there were around 2,000 transfer applying this year), I’m thinking this year is lucky for us transfer students</p>

<p>according to UCI’s website for fall 2010: 13,870 applied and 6,742 got admitted… so 1500 this year seems unreal. </p>

<p>what is UCI’s transfer enrollment target anyways? because obviously not all 1500 students will SIR to UCI</p>

<p>Even I thought 1,500 is outrageously low but that is what said. I sure hope it’s actually much higher so more people have a chance to still get in.</p>

<p>^^maybe what they meant was they’re hoping to target 1500 in enrollment not admitted? b/c not everyone admitted will enroll at UCI. usually they’ve been admitting around 6000/year.</p>

<p>If they had only admitted 1500 transfers that means its possible for them to admit the rest of us that are on the wait list right? 1500+ 2100or3000 (which ever one is right) is still under 6000.</p>

<p>@TL1990 That depends on UCI’s current situation, we know that UCI changed to holistic review process this year (out of all the previous years they were using a academic review process), but this also means that they had to cap the limit for transfer student (which I don’t have access to that information) and as well as budget cuts so according to this chart below (Fall 2011 last year)</p>

<p>it says that out of 15,974 new transfer, only 6,553 transfer got admitted but only 1,727 actually enrolled to UCI (leaving out 4,826 acceptances not SIR’d or went other campuses) so I would only make a guess that for wait-listed student it is highly possible you’ll be admitted (seeing last year’s trend) but only seeing that some current admits SIR to other campuses (if they were accepted elsewhere) and leaving space for wait-listed, so I can’t entirely say for sure but this is my guess but also I might be wrong, I don’t know (got limited information so). Hopefully you do get a spot for you wait-lister and eager to enroll at UC Irvine (theres no reason for you to wait for UCI if you not going to actually enroll). Good Luck!</p>

<p>So I was hoping that the waitlist decisions are going to come out on a rolling basis but that doesn’t seem to be the case. From what I got from the admissions counselors, they will all come out on 6/15:</p>

<p>I am still pending!!! I was hoping if accepted to move down the second week of June and do summer session down there but I am already locked in at UCSB for summer and I guess will be up here either way. I just wish I knew :(</p>

<p>And got2have: you have to complete the 60 before summer (usually), but I would called admissions and see if it’s ok, if it’s not a prerequisite I’m guessing they will allow it but who knows!</p>

<p>If you call they won’t even ask for your app or Id number, they’ll just tell you that decisions will come out eventually :T</p>
