Man, its sunday the 6th and I still havent gotten word yet…are most of the people still pending advanced standing transfers?

@got2have I think you can finish the 60 units over the summer but call to confirm

@rawbeanz yeah i’m still pending. I got a msg from them yesterday saying they’re in the final stages for decisions.

@ darkpain

You cannot.

@icedespresso yeah I emailed them a couple days ago but honestly I thought they were supposed to let us know by the 1st…i dont get why they can even do this…

@rawbeanz yeah i don’t understand why they’re taking this long either. They should have been done 1 week ago with EVERYONE. Since they’re taking this long, they better inspect every inch of our application then LET US IN. haha.

edit: if they’re going to waitlist us…they better do it soon. isn’t the opt-in dead-line 5/15 or something?

anybody who SIP to UCI, got this e-mail?

Your SIP has been successfully processed.

Be aware that during heavy Website traffic periods it may take several
hours to confirm your SIP status on MyAdmissionsApplication@UCI.

A separate confirmation e-mail will be sent this evening to confirm that
your SIP transmission has been successful

My only question: I never received separate confirmation e-mail until today, should I be worried? Although when I log in to UCI portal, my status has been updated to I accept to SIP to UCI.

@domystud89

I wouldn’t worry about it. You can call and ask them directly of your status if you really want to make sure.

I never got the other confirmation e-mail afterwards either. I opted in one the 30th of April too

oh uci, you sure love putting on college live chats on with admission officers yet you still haven’t made decisions for everyone yet. good job.

Called them and they still gave me a BS answer this late. “we’re in the final stages of making a decision and there isn’t a known day you’ll be notified but it will be soon.”

^^i guess the only option is to wait. Because they’ll just repeat the same answer If you call them

@lawlking haha yeah i won’t be spamming them with calls/emails. figured that would annoy the heck out of them. i just called them b/c it’s been 1 week since april 30th and was wondering what was going on.

anyone else still pending? did you guys get the same response from them?

I was in Irvine last Friday for Transfer day, there were about 100 transfer student show up. Half of them ready commited to UCI, other half just check out the school replying to question from the Undergraduate dean. The Undergraduate dean make strong statement that students can change major after easily after get in. I think she try to give compelling reason to go to UCI. It seems to me that alot of waitlist people can get in. Good luck to everyone still waiting.

I got notified I was waitlisted around 4:30pm today. Finally a decision!!!

It was weird though. When I first read it, it was a rejection and felt super bad. Then I re-logged back in 5 min later to carefully read it, but instead of a rejection it was a waitlist letter instead (ugh UCI, what trolls lol). Well suffice to say, I SIP’d very quickly! Good luck to all of us wait-listers!

People wait listed like me: I talked to a rep at uci and he said that the wait list decisions will most likely released on June 15 except for very few.it’s not rolling like before.

@darkpain

Thanks a lot for the information. June 15th seems so far away… the waiting never ends with UCI

I know UCI hasn’t come up with all the acceptances yet, but I’d love to see a transfer group for this year. I know some of the other UCs already have theirs up, so it’d be nice to gather a little community too.

@LAforlife thanks for the tips

@dancemasterv i guess they are just too busy to send a simple confirmation e-mail, oohh… UCI…

@IcedEspresso welcome to the club, bro. and remember your not alone :)

What the heck is a SIP? don’t you mean a SIR?

@domystud89

Yep… they sure do like to take their sweet time don’t they?

@fredfrep

UCI’s waitlist uses a Statement of Intent to Participate. So if you want to participate in being on the waitlist, you send in an SIP.
