on UCI’s admissions fb page, they replied saying that waitlists would come out starting june 1st on a rolling basis.

@dancemasterv yeah the waiting never ends with uci…

@domystud89 thanks man. good luck to all of us!

@pandababy91 knowing uci, i doubt there’ll be a “rolling basis.” hahaha. we’ll all just be notified on the last day or beyond. all joking aside, i hope they’re on time this time around.

Got an e-mail today at 3 AM saying my app status had changed, logged onto my ZotPortal and it said no application record available. Then I logged onto MyAdmissionsApplication@UCI and…REJECTION. After all this time. Needless to say, I am very sad :(

Does anyone know if they accept applicants based on appeals very often?

@lakersgirl08 sorry to hear =\ and I’m not sure about the whole appealing process I don’t know how high your chances are if you appeal because I think waitlist comes first =

Sorry, lakersgirl, I’m still pending too and if I get rejected that would be so, completely anti-climactic!!! And a huge bummer.
The only way you can file an appeal is if you have “new and compelling” information; they wont just look at your application again because you are requesting it.

Is academic renewal enough of a reason to appeal?? : /

@lakergirl08 I think academic renewal could be reason for an appeal just try it it won’t hurt you it can only help
Ps sry to hear you got rejected hope you get in
Did you get in any other schools?

@lakersgirl08 I’m so sorry to hear that! You should definitely appeal if you had academic renewal. It definitely doesn’t hurt to try at least.

@alexajam Ugh still pending huh? Good luck!!!

Still pending!!!

Woohoooooo! I just got admitted!

@dancemasterv thanks I thought people were just misspelling SIR lol

@lakersgirl08 sorry to hear about your rejection but you should by ALL MEANS APPEAL, it doesn’t hurt you and no risk, take a chance, who knows you might be offered a spot! (its never too late!)

@alexajam congrats!!! what is your major? (sorry if you asked here before lol)
Welcome to the Anteater Family!

I’m a sociology major transferring as a Senior! Goodbye UCSB!

@alexajam congrats! you deserve it girl!

@alexajam congratulations on transferring out of UCSB!!

@alexajam: did you like wing a sociology major at UCSB?! I’m transferring there this fall and was wondering what you thought of the sociology department.

^^^ @ AllFields & alexajam: What is it with UCSB? I know a lot of people who went to SB and either transferred out, or went back to ccc to transfer else where. I also know people who currently go there and don’t like it. I was really considering SB at one point too, the place is nice. Why does everyone want to leave? lol.

The only way to get the answer to that is to see for yourself. I am not talking about the tours that big up the university and show you the nice parts. Actually attending the school is the only way to know.

^^ Why did you decide to transfer out of SB. What didn’t you like about it?

I want respect. I hated hearing over and over again about the party school reputation. These people are my family, adults I volunteer with, and future employers.
Also, I do not like the location. I am from SoCal and the central coast is not really for me. There is always moisture in the air that makes my hair friz.
There is a lack of diversity (50-55% of students are white). Very heavy bro culture.
And the architecture is of different styles; there is no uniformity. Some parts of the physical campus is ugly (i.e. dirty beach, cracked side walks, the faculty lawn is not even a lawn…the grass is either dead or covered with some kind of sand or something…there is also some kind of construction going on somewhere)

All in all, UCSB is alright, just not for me.

I felt I would fit in better at either UCI or UCLA. I visited both campuses this past weekend. All three campuses are distinct and have their own vibe and personality. Honestly, I prefer both over UCSB. That is just me.

Go Anteaters and Bruins!

^^ Cool. I totally agree. One thing I didn’t like was the lack of diversity. LA is probably the most diverse UC. I’ve always felt comfortable in a more urban environment so LA is the best choice for me. I also do like the Irvine area. Irvine is just so wide open and I find the industrial buildings comforting for some reason =]. lol. Thumbs down to the “bro culture” too, its obnoxious. LOL.
