<p>Some people are going to be admitted later because there will be those who are going to not accept the offer off the waitlist and their deadline is pass the June 15th. For example, I was in a group who has until June 17 to accept UCI’s offer, therefore there will also be someone who will not accept the offer and have a room open.</p>
<p>It’s just gonna be another waiting period. I believe you will be able to opt in or out unless you are denied.</p>
<p>So @Karlmcgee did you get in? I hope so!!! I am also in my late 20’s and I completely understand taking a little longer to get your degree!</p>

<p>I just called admissions and they told me that supposedly we will be notified by tonight.</p>
<p>Unless the person on the team is absolutely full of crap (highly doubtful), then I didn’t get in. As for being in your 20’s, I’ve learned that making a ton of money prior to my education isn’t as rewarding as feeling academically accomplished. I plan to go as far as possible. When I was 19 and also in college, I thought older people were absurd for being in college. I think it’s a maturity thing. When you’re young and not at odds with decisions you’ve made that you can’t take back, you fall victim to bein naive. It’s just that way. I certainly was. </p>
<p>As for how they choose, I wish I knew. People say they don’t choose based on gpa, but I doubt it. They also say major doesn’t count, I also doubt that too. If gpa didn’t matter, nothing would be competitive. If a major being impacted didn’t matter, there would be an endless amount of biology classes and there wouldn’t be impacted majors. </p>
<p>Ya feel me? There’s all kinds of ways one can speculate. I’m just reporting what this person told me for certain and I was extremely cautious not to over step my bounds since this person was already breaking the rules by telling me this. </p>

<p>I have a 3.18 and applied as a PSB major. Sigh. If only they counted this semester which I got straight A’s!!! Haha.</p>
<p>Major is English but I plan to switch to Literary Journalism. I had a ****ty school counselor that didn’t inform me of TAG and made it seem like my gpa would be whack. Too bad they don’t count spring! I had straight A’s in 5 classes in Fall totally 17 units and 5 A’s and 2 B’s in spring totaling in 20.5 units. Initially, when I applied before fall grades, my gpa was 2.89 and after fall, 3.15. Now, my gpa is 3.48. </p>

<p>You are correct. Some will be admitted after the June 15th deadline because you’re in the second round that gets until the 17th. </p>
<p>Hence the third round. There will be some denials today. </p>
<p>I pray I’m not one of them. Also for the rest of you, I hope we all get to take advantage of it!</p>
<p>Also, to let you guys know, I found out I got accepted first in the UCI portal and then received an email notifying that my admission status has changed the NEXT day.</p>
<p>So, log in in your portal rather than waiting for the email.</p>
<p>If someone saw how many times in 5 minutes that I log into the portal, they’d laugh. I still just want to see SOMETHING.</p>
<p>Best way to check your portal is to check here first. When people started posting they got off the waitlist, so I checked and I was accepted.</p>
