yah my counselor got it sorted out that monday. =) now i’m just enjoying summer before i entered the school year. joined a couple of clubs to meet new people.

^Glad to hear that. Though I’m still not sure how they “lost” a transcript lol.

zzzz. just got my fin. aid back. I only got 8.8k. UCSC gave me 14k. It says i’m qualified for blue and gold which seems to pay the tuition and system wide fees. i got a UC Irvine grant is that the same as blue and gold.

^Yep, UC Irvine grant is part of the Blue and Gold.

zzzzz. guess i’ll be moving this year again. that an additional 6k out of pocket or 27k over 3 years. Unless i withdraw loans.

Has anyone other than aaespino20 received their decision on appeal?

Has anyone’s IGETC Certification been approved yet? My transcripts were validated a while ago but my DegreeWorks still shows I need to take ALL the general ed requirements.

Sent from my HTC Evo 3D using CC

Make sure your community college sent your transcript along with your IGETC certification. I know I had to call ahead of time and call my community college’s registration office and figure out how to do it. I had the same problem and I guess I sent the transcript out but I didn’t check a box in the application that could authorize for them to send my IGETC as well. Call the admissions office and ask them if they ever received your IGETC cert. If no, then call your community college and ask them how you can have your IGETC sent. Good luck.

@randroid I checked mine today, it seems to say the same thing for me, most of the checklist is grayed out for me; however if you look at the very top right of the corner, it says something like “Credits Required: 180” and below it says “Credits Applied: ###” or something like that, and it shows I completed already 123 quarter units so I need 57 units more so if you have that number in the “Credit Applied” or something then you shouldn’t worry, they are probably in the process of finalizing transcript before or on 9-17-2012 (fee deadline)

I will try to call admissions today about this and see whats going on
you should call to verify just in case too (go all the way bottom to the Electives section and check if all of your classes are transferred correctly)

btw do you know when classes start?
I’m looking at the date, its says Sept. 24 is the first day of term and Sept. 27 is when instructions begin? lol I feel like a noob all over again

^^ just called admissions/school department, you don’t have to worry about anything, my guess is right, there still processing transcripts/getting it verified for new incoming students so when you start school (or near the 4th week) they should have this done by then

Hello! I wanted to know my chances
I’m a second year at UCD so it’s a UC-UC transfer. To me, it seems like UCI almost draws admissions very randomly… by reading this thread, I saw that people with 3.2 GPAs got in while people with 3.9 didn’t… So just crossing my fingers I guess!

Major: Cell Biology
Prerequisites: Done by summer
GEs: Done by summer
GPA: 3.5
ECs/awards: Science and engineering club, IM volleyball, AP Honors Award in 2011, Deans list Fall 2011. Hospital volunteer, two tutoring jobs, a few clubs, and piano in high school.
Other: Failed two community classes over the summer due to family loss (stated in my application) but retook one with a passing grade and retaking the other next quarter.
Personal statements: Okay I guess. Talked about how working in the hospital for 2 years and seeing elderly patients come and go made me want to pursue a career in medicine because of all the people I’ve seen pass away. My other essay was about my tutoring experience and how it was valuable to me that I had the ability to teach children and help them understand.

I really want to get in but I don’t know what my chances are :(

@fuzzyducky22: I think you have a decent chance. Community college transfers are still first priority but UC-to-UC still has a better chance over CSU-to-UC or Out-Of-State. The 3.9 rejections were most likely either out-of-state or they didn’t have their math or English requirement done before the Spring before transfer.

@fuzzyducky22 well looking your at profile I’d say you have a very good chance of getting in, don’t even worry about your failed classes as long as you retake them(i personally failed 2 in community college and got in). But i cannot reiterate enough that you should definitely have a back up, last year there were tons of people who didn’t apply anywhere else because they were sure they were going to make it and ended up not making it. Especially Bio, the bio department is very competitive. Here are my stats
Gpa: 3.3
Major CLS(criminology)
If anyone has any questions for me please feel free to ask them as i spent at least 7 months on this forum last year lol and i vowed to come back to answer questions this year:)

@ darkpain: Same here. I’m back to answer questions for this year’s transfers. LOL

Did not tag to UCI but got accepted today
Major Biology
Gpa 3.89
All pre reqs
major gpa 4.0

I’ve had my IGETC certified and sent
transcripts are waiting for my Spring grades but I already ordered the transcript.

This is last years thread.

Is there a new thread for this year?

…
