Official UCI Transfer admittance Thread

3.2 GPA did not get the questionaire. Anyone with similar stats to mine?

3.39 psych social behavior applicant and no questionnaire. i dont think we need to worry about it

^^ 3.3 right here & non-impacted major. didn’t get the questionnaire. super worried :/

[Ms. Sun’s UC Admissions Blog - UC Irvine Supplemental Questionnaires](Error)

Check that out. I think since they do it for freshman they probably do the same from transfers. @cosmicbubble if you dont mind me asking, what’s your gpa?

3.2 sociology major and I got nothing as well.

I thought this only applied to certain majors, as in Creative Writing or English majors? Ooops, guess I was wrong. meh.

@ CosmicBubble: Oh man, you’re writing an essay?! I thought it was like some true or false stuff. No thanks. lol

3.39 Sociology major and I didn’t get the questionnaire either.

3.22 Anthro major and no supplement questionnaire.

[Ms. Sun’s UC Admissions Blog - UC Irvine Supplemental Questionnaires](Error)
“The questionnaire format is identical to what UCLA sends out and is likely to also be triggered by special talent, disability, and/or borderline academic performance.”

Wth. So according to this you only get the questionnaire if you are either awesome or not. lol. Mediocre does not get you the questionnaire I guess.

This is good though that UCI is taking the holistic approach now. My gpa is not great but I have plenty of full time work experience and other accomplishments to back my application.

@ la42692
my gpa is 3.30

@iDizzle
… i have the option of writing 2 essays lol and yah i agree, the questionnaire is for boarderline students or people with a special talent or a special circumstance! lol!

3.07 gpa - no questionnaire but I have a really legitimate and convincing reason why my gpa is so low.

2.96 psych and social behavior, no questionnaire. I also have a legitimate reason why my GPA is low and also didn’t attend college for some time because of it. Also, really bad grades beforehand because of said circumstances, but I just recently came back with an upward trend. Just the bad grades beforehand is really hindering my GPA.

but didnt you guys all TAG irvine? if so, don’t worry about your gpa… as long as you got a 3.2 or over… im hoping?

this for sure has to be a record wait…

Yeah the waiting sucks =.= Been checking multiple times everyday since this thread was made

So with the holistic approach, UCI takes everything into account when determining who gets into their school? My question is, how much do the PS and EC really weigh in the minds of their admission officers compared to the GPA and pre-reqs? I don’t want to sound like a ****** but, I’m a bit worried because I worked hard for my 3.52 GPA and I don’t really have an AMAZING PS. I didn’t really have any special circumstances that i had to overcome or anything just a normal life of going to school, and I don’t want to be beaten out of a spot by someone who has a lower GPA than me.

~3.30 GPA International Studies major – no questionaire. GIVE ME THE DECISION ALREADYY!!!

I’m glad UCI is taking a holistic approach to the decisions. I only have a 3.49 but I have tons of work and real life experience. My PS was about years of drug abuse and what motivated me to clean up, join the work force, than go back to school. I also hope they see the improvement from a 1.5 gpa from my 05-07 college career and my 09-12 gpa.

do you guys think if we get accepted/rejected to uci we can apply our decision to ucsd and expect the same descision from them?

^No. There are people who get rejected from UCI/UCSD and accepted to Berkeley. UCSD doesn’t even read the personal statements, Irvine does. UCSD admits to the whole school, Irvine admits to major. You can’t base decisions a UC makes based off of a different UC they all evaluate applications differently and as a result some are more selective.
