Official UCI Transfer admittance Thread

Wonder when they’ll finally start releasing the majority of decisions…

@uchappytrain
The only one I checked was UCI, but I think that this year it will be around 45-50% in nd it would be lower(25-40%) at the mid-to-upper UC’s like UCLA,Berkley,nd UCSB. while UCR, Merced, nd UCSC would most likely be the same if not higher, practicaly auto-ins so long as you are UC eligible, as they are nowhere near as competative as other UC campuses in terms of admissions.

@earell92 lol youre right! I’ve already been accepted to UCR UCM and UCSC. I’m just nervous about UCSD UCD and UCI

@uchappytrain
well so far I haven’t gotten an email from another UC campus saying that they’d like me to let them consider my app at their school, so I hope that that’s a good sign. fingers crossed hopefully I can hold out for another week without one of those b/c then it must mean I got in somewhere…
just out of curiosity what are your admission stats looking like?

Interestingly, UCI received the 3rd most applications of any UC campus.

UCLA

Berkeley

UC Irvine

@liuyuyang here’s their admissions page: [UC Irvine Admissions - University - Irvine, CA | Facebook](UC Irvine Admissions)

I think it says a lot about UCI that it was the 3rd most popular choice behind UCLA and Berkeley :).

@earell92 I’m sure you’ll get your decisions soon!

here are my stats, theyre not that great lol.
GPA 3.3
History major

pre reqs: I’ve completed some of them at most UC’s, since theyre all different. I have completed none at UCSD since my CC offered no courses that articulated to my major. At UCI Ive completed 3-4 and I’m not liking that 4 semester language requirement :/

IGETC: Done by spring, just doing my spanish 2. I finished my Math and English last fall, and I also got straight A’s fall semester while taking four classes

@Lalady I looked at that link and I think it says that San Diego was 3rd for most applicants.

^I think LAforlife means in transfer applications and not overall.

ohhhhhh duh. I can’t believe UCLA got almost 100,000 applicants! thats so crazy.

Ya, I meant for transfers. I just found it interesting that UCI was the next UC behind UCLA and Berkeley in transfer applicants.

@ half of those are asian.

late night ferrari

Has anyone gotten rejected?

Anyone have an idea how critical UCI is going to be regarding prereqs? I understand they are really important to a transfer decision but I was wondering if a person, me, missing a few would still have a reasonable chance. I have a 3.45 and I applied as a political science major. It does however state on assist that for political science the prereqs are not required for that major. Any opinions on this would be greatly appreciated!

If UCI sends me another email from “UCI office of admissions” that reminds me to go check out Collegeweek live I’m going to lose it.

Haha jdom24, me too. I was like… OMG UCI Office of Admissions email. Oh wait, it’s just reminding me to check Collegeweek out. FFFFUUUUU

^^same here. They even mentioned “Remember to submit your positive Statement of Intent to Register (SIR)” in their letter.

GAHHHHHH me too. ■■■■■ UCI Admissions. Sending us another online college fair thing.
