this is rediculous…

I received my acceptance on the first day, March 7, with CHP. Regents and then the physical letters came a week or two later. I think I might SIR, because of Regents. Its funny, because I wasn’t going to apply to UCI at all. So…anyone going to go to UCI? More importantly, are you going to live on campus? I live in OC, but I’m going to live there for one year. So… yep. I would love to know/meet any future schoolmates and friends. :)

Congratulations Objection! What were your stats?

On CollegeWeekLive I heard that they don’t releases decisions by the bunch, they do it on a rolling basis so they send it out whenever your application is reviewed… but who knows, they could be lying scoundrels.

got accepted already still waiting for my financial aid offer. wayy so long?

Can anyone give me an idea if i will be accepted please? I have applied to Irvine 3 times and have tried to TAG the 2nd and 3rd time (now). But because of the TAG GPA increase that is barely above my GPA i couldn’t. The increase came at a really bad time for me also because it would have been basically impossible for me in 1 year to increase my old GPA (2.92) to the new required GPA (3.2) with the amount of units i have.

4th Year at a CC
Student Status: 60-89 units completed with C or above
Major: Informatics
IGETC: Completed
GPA: 3.1, No TAG

Pre Requisites for Major: Completed
Essay: Very strong essay in my opinion (and a few others that read it) that relates to my major and career choice

jvo331: your best bet is to check the data website where it “sort of” breaks down how many have entered to the UC of your choice under a given GPA (dont remember the exact link atm)…

Also, nothing yet… sometimes I feel like the wait is just ridiculous.

Anybody with TAG not hear back?

I havent :(, what’s your major sewupyolo?

So tired of waiting. Going to visit my parents tonight back east and so don’t want to find out I was rejected while I’m there.

@Ferrari4XD well they did say finaid was going to be released around mid-April. They still got some time. haha.

we can all get through this! :]

I have a questions! Help please :)

So I decided not to take two classes this Summer term that I had originally listed on my UC application. An admissions counselor told me I didn’t qualify for my major of choice because of lack of pre-reqs, so I listed an alternate which I actually like more. But now the classes I listed that I was going to take this summer do not apply AT ALL to my new alternate major, therefore, it woud be pointless for me to take them. I was told to update my WIP (Work In Progress) Form by logging into my UC Application portal…I do not see anywhere to update my courses??? Does anyone else have access to update the courses they listed on their application?

@astef001
Call and notify them directly. Don’t put it off.

@jvo331
You have a great shot. They obviously admit people below the TAG requirement, and considering that it’s a 3.2, a 3.1 should be pretty solid. In my opinion, you clearly have over a 50% chance of getting in. You’re on the borderline, but I’d say you’re probably in.

@jvo331 glad to know someone else’s on the same boat lol I had a 2.87 and got it up to 3.2 majors criminology

Thanks for the help! I called them and they said that you can’t update course work currently through your My UC Application. If anyone has the same problem just send them a message through MyAdmissionsApplication telling them which courses you are adding or dropping.

@jvo331 Dude me too. I had a 2.8 and brought it up to a 3.1 then they changed the tag requirement to a 3.2 …

“Please Note: MyAdmissionsApplication@UCI will be offline
from 7:00 - 9:00 AM on Friday, April 13, 2012.”

Routine maintenance, or something more significant?

…ugh, this process is obviously driving me insane.

dude between the lines that means possibly admissions could be post beginning at 9am on friday…

I usually don’t post much but come here and read to see if any batches have been released. I figure I will share information I found out today: I have a friend that is a UC Evaluator and he/she said rejections will come out at the end of the month, although possible, it is “highly unlikely” they will come out before then.

I am not supposed to know this until my final decision is out, but I was told my application was “approved” whatever that means and must go through the final stages of evaluation. I have worked really hard academically retaking courses, taking courses at UCI without being an official student, and doing research in the department I applied for etc. in an attempt to improve my chances of admission since I have experienced a handful of documented extenuating circumstances including the passing of my fiancee. If its any conciliation, I expect to be rejected and am currently working on my letter of appeal and gathering necessary supporting material.

For some UCI is merely a back up, for others not even an option, but for me UCI is the only school I want to attend (accepted to UCR, CSUF, CSUN, CSUDH, CSULB). Hang in there, only a few more weeks until we all know our decisions! Best of luck to everyone that actually wants to attend UCI!

so your app was approved but you were rejected?
