Official UCI Transfer admittance Thread

lol may. that’s ridiculous.

anyways, please keep other schools out of this thread. for a second i thought UCI was releasing a batch on the 20th when it was actually about UCLA. that little jolt of hope that UCI was finally organized and on time crumbled.

Didn’t post anything about UCLA, but I kind of don’t blame people for talking about other schools. Almost all the topics are about waiting for admissions, waiting for admissions, waiting for admissions, and waiting for admissions. Its a bummer. We need something a little distracting, aha.

So, let me try moving the thread a little while staying on topic… Who here has UCI as their #1 pick? If it is, then are you going to SIR immediately and apply for housing? Or will you commute? If not, what schools are you waiting for? And what rank is UCI for you?

UCI is my number one pick and I will probably SIR immediately because it’s a great place for my major. I probably won’t apply for housing since it’s a huge rip-off, although it would probably be great for meeting new people and cut down on commute time! I’ll probably look for housing around Tustin or Mission Viejo since it’s a lot cheaper.

But yeah I understand people talking about other schools too. We need some time to figure out where to live, where to go, etc and if UCI is delaying admission decisions, we have even a smaller window of time to figure everything out.

If it makes anyone feel any better…there are only 30 days in April, not 31 :)

@ralphlaural- sounds like you’re in:)

UCI is my #1 pick so I really hope I get in

From the posts I’ve been seeing, are admissions for non TAG really about the same as people in TAG? I thought people that didn’t TAG would have to have a noticeably higher GPA or something. I really hope it’s about the same whether you tagged or not :(

I am starting to think my application and GPA aren’t strong enough… :frowning:

Out of state transfer from a Florida 4-year university
3.51 GPA
Social Policy & Public Service major
All pre-reqs done
Good EC’s

I feel like they are just sitting there flipping a coin deciding who to accept…UCI is my only option and I NEED to be accepted! I’m going crazy with impatience.

F word !!! I am scared I might be rejected anyone got in today?

May…!? Deadline for CSUs is May 1st…

@darkpain, I don’t think any decisions came out for the past 1 week and a half or so, if I’m not mistaken.

@sewupyolo, I know! I don’t think I will wait that long for UCI and go to Cal Poly instead. How about you?

Dang I didn’t realize CSU deadline is in May. @praewa cal poly is definitely a great school too! its the 3rd most selective school in the nation i believe so its definitely great you have that option!

cal poly is a good school or ok school. not a GREAT school.

cal poly slo? it is ranked really well practically a uc just less pricey

when i applied my priority was caltech, ucla, uci, and i wasnt really considering UCSD or davis but applied because of the fee waiver. I got accepted to caltech and uci but after finding out that it would take me at LEAST another 3 years to graduate from caltech that is no longer on the table. so now my priority is UCI > UCSD > UCLA. even though UCI is my top choice and i’ve already been accepted i’m still waiting for UCSD and UCLA in case i change my mind once i see the decisions. i think my number one factor is that i’ve moved so much that I’m just so sick of it and if i go to UCI i won’t have to

did anyone get this email?? i got it on april 12th

Dear Shannon:

On April 9, 2012, you may have received an email from us inviting you to visit UC Irvine at CollegeWeekLive.com.

Unfortunately, this message was sent in error. Please accept our sincerest apologies. It was intended only for newly admitted freshman students.

Our records indicate that you have applied to UC Irvine as a transfer student, not a freshman. The transfer admissions process is different from the freshman admissions process. Please continue to monitor MyAdmissionsApplication@uci for changes in your application status.

Again, we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or confusion this may have caused and we appreciate your interest in our campus.

^ Yup, a lot of people got the first email and that one.

I’ll take it as a good sign since the letter was for admitted students  haha

^^Rejected freshman students also got that email

Ya, I got the same message except that it said,
“Our records indicate that you have been admitted to UC Irvine as a transfer student. We have not yet heard from you as to whether you are interested in becoming an Anteater. If you are, please submit your Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) by the upcoming deadline of June 1st at MyAdmissionsApplication@uci.”
becuase I’d already been accepted.
