Official UCI Transfer admittance Thread

I believe I read somewhere on Ms. Sun’s Blog that students who meet the UC requirements but don’t get accepted to any UCs, will typically automatically receive an invitation into UC Merced’s school for the upcoming Fall if they didn’t apply.

With that being said, all UC’s should be aware of a student’s admission status from every school right?

Question 1: Will UCs reject a student that has recieved too many admissions to other UCs? Thus believing that the student has plenty of options to choose from. And what if the student has completed all requirements and is competitive?

Question 2: Will UCs reject a student that has already SIR’d to a UC campus. For example, if a student SIRs to UCLA. So UCI sees that and automatically rejects the student before admission status is notified to the student.

I’d really like to know, people are still waiting to get into uci I’d gladly give up my spot.
Anyone know how?

^^call the admissions office?

My CC admission said when you SIR to one of the UCs, you will be automatically swept out from other UCs, and I think that’s what UCI is waiting for.

^is that only for transfers? I remember last year after
I submitted my SIR to UCD, I received an acceptance from UCSB, so I wasn’t swept out of other admissions. Maybe that’s because I was applying as a freshman. Hmm…

It feels like I’m in a conspiracy theory thread

Here we are trying to come up with intricate theories when the reality is, maybe, the UC just likes to screw around with us.

If UCI really is waiting to see which of their applicants SIR to other schools that would make me feel a lot better about all this waiting…and it would mean more spots for people who’s first choice is UCI

Yeah I sure hope so, UCI’s my first choice. I’m sorta nervous since I’m not in TAG. It’s so lame though, I applied for TAG and met all the requirements but it got voided because I changed my major. I didn’t even know that could happen :frowning: I thought TAG gets changed to the new major if you meet all the requirements

lol UCI is being hard to get huh? I like it.

@freako

UCI is my first (and only) choice as well :frowning: I couldn’t TAG since I am from out of state and currently go to a university in Florida. I am really keeping my fingers crossed for this admissions decision…

Just checked the fb page of UCI admission, people who asked about admission decisions were all responded like “you will be notified by 30rd April”. Does it mean that UCI is gonna post all decision on the last day of April? just like UCLA on 20th.

@astef001

damnnn, really?! haha me toooo. UCI is my first and ONLY choice. I thought I’d be like the only one. I hope we both get in :]

They’ll probably be weak about it and wait until after the 27th because of Cal’s decisions.

I’ve been a nervous wreck ever since April 1st. I TAG’d UCI as a Poli Sci major and have not heard anything back. GPA is 3.65; Mostly all of the required pre-reqs are finished; IGETC certified; Extra-Curricular activities include XC/Track team at my college and over 100 hrs at a hospital; Personal statement was decent/good…I cannot wait until this wait is over!!

one question, if my alt major is undeclared uci will only consider my major? and what if I didn’t complete all my requirements, is that means i will be reject?

lets party once we get admitted to uci! yay

Taking bets on Berkeley coming out before Irvine.

Just please don’t put the rejections at the end, that’s just insane

@jdom24
I’m in. I’ll put a $100 on Berkeley coming out before UCI. What are the odds and I’ll be sure to be in contact with you on 4/27 to collect my winnings. Lol

I’ll bet the same, uci and ucsb are probably be the last UC to inform their admission decision.
