2012-13 UC Irvine Scholarship Opportunity: Town and Gown Scholarship

Dear prospective UC Irvine student,

I would like to make you aware of a scholarship opportunity that you may be eligible for contingent on you being admitted as a student at UC Irvine. The UCI Town and Gown Scholarship is for a mature student who has experienced a five year break in attendance in his/her educational career. Students should have indicated on their UC Application for Admission, information that will qualify them for this scholarship. The award amount varies from $500 to $5,000 and is contingent upon the applicant

I’m sending this through a phone that’s why it cuts off but I just got that in an email…

^ Yee, I got that today too…got excited for nothing lol

yay! I got my acceptance package & regents scholar letter today :D

me too! minus regents

^ what did you get then?

@socali909
You don’t need to have completed the calculus requirement, or the American history/Institutions requirement for that matter. In fact, they almost prefer that students complete the one year stats series instead. It will give you a much better chance of being accepted into any research project within UCI, since the stats sequence is absolutely geared towards research.
Also, keep in mind that if you intend to attend grad school, it is a good thing to take the stats sequence because you will have the same professor for 3 quarters, so he/she will be a good person to write you a letter of rec.

UcKitty why didn’t you tag to irvine? You don’t have to have igetc or have it done by end of fall to qualify for tag right?

^ No, UCI doesn’t require IGETC for TAG.

@acoustickitty

Thought UCkitty was tagged for Davis, and you can only have one TAG right?

i tagged to Davis, and did because UCI requires transferrable math to be completed by summer of 2011, and i did mine in the fall of 2011.

Oh I see! Don’t worry! We’re so close to admissions. I feel like April will pass by so fast you won’t feel it.

@UCkittychen
just 2 pieces of paper. i got an official acceptance letter and another paper outlining the conditions of my acceptance

how come you got that so early? are you in a special circumstance or just a general applicant. i see your SN has NAVY in it, do you get veteran priority or something?

sun is saying admissions for UCSC:

Santa Cruz - decisions come out in batches at MyUCSC from March 15 to the last day of April

and SERIOUSLY what the FLIP.

freshmen get an EXACT date for UCLA but transfers get this VAGUE date of “beginning late APRIL”

^^UCSC says they are releasing admission on the 17th, not the 15th. And are releasing it by batches of last names every hour.
