Official UCI Transfer admittance Thread

I’m still waiting, anthro major though. I wouldn’t be surprised if I got rejected. I’m missing 1 prereq that is not offered at my school and I’m missing calculus(only UCI requires calc). I also have the Java pre-req IP right now, also UCI is the only school that requires java as well. LOL. I don’t care though, I already got into UCLA. That means I dug myself into a hole taking the java class, and ALSO taking the PREREQ for the java class during the winter semester. LOL

Any math major got in in these two days? Hope rest of us all get in~

Just let us know already…!

I also love how it says “check the message center often”. I’ve never had a single message in there:)

@backinthegame

Ya, I never have either. I’m not sure who does get messages.

@LAforLife

It’s a great way to contact admissions counselors. I had my conditions changed when I got in within a few days.

Accepted today 4/24/12

Major: Mathematics
GPA: 3.93
major GPA: 4.0
TAG: No
IGETC & all Pre-Reqs completed

I wanna scream already…!!!
I feel more and more hopeless by the minute… Worse yet, there aren’t that many people here who have applied to my major, so I don’t know of anyone who got accepted into it other then freshmen and those offered Regents.

I even called again today and was told by an admissions rep the old “it’s random” song and dance - even after I asked “then how is it that the majority of ppl admitted were Psych and Poli Sci majors?”

@Rockoz

Does it say what time the decision was posted? Or did you just happen to check right now?
Also, did you receive the email telling you your status had changed before you checked?

I received an email this morning telling me my admission status had changed. I checked frequently prior to today and I was not able to see my status.

@Rockoz

Congrats!!!

You have an amazing gpa (ESP fo Math). How is it that they didn’t tell you sooner with the Regents people???

Anyone with high GPA and/or those TAGGED with UCI still waiting?!

@encgdr

Ah, ok. That’s the first I’ve heard of it being used.

i guess its rolling admissions time. another round tonight?

Major: Comp Sci
GPA: 3.95
Major GPA: 4.0

Still waiting for UCI (already accepted by UCSD)

I hope so kitty.

I don’t mind when I’m not in the batch, I just like to see it when schools are putting out. :)

@lawlking

I have TAG and am still waiting… It’s super annoying, especially since my major (Pharm Sci) isn’t even impacted!

@givemegoodnews

Don’t worry, if you have TAG and met all of the requirements, you’re in.

@LAforlife

I’m nervous because I haven’t done Bio and Physics yet (which is why I didn’t bother applying to UCLA).

The TAG requirements for my major are as follows:
Pharmaceutical Sciences Additional Requirements*
Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 (3.2 for TAG)
Complete one year of general chemistry with laboratory with grade of B or better in each course
or
Complete one year of biology courses with laboratory equivalent to UC Irvine’s BIO SCI 93 and 94 with a grade of B or better in each course
(TAG Applicants: one course required for the major needs to be completed with required grades by the summer prior to the TAG submission period)
Recommended
One year of calculus or a combination of calculus and statistics
One year of calculus-based physics with laboratory
One year of organic chemistry with lab

However, for 2013 they changed it to General Chem AND BIO.
So I’m hoping the lack if bio doesn’t hurt me. I know not having the Physics done is ok.

I’ve done all of the Chem (including Ochem), Calc 1 and 2. I’ll be IGETC certified by FALL (need 1 Art class for summer).

@givemegoodnews

I see. What’s your GPA?
