Official UCI Transfer admittance Thread

oh okay
thanks lawlking and lalady for clearing that up:)

@uchappytrain

I’m not lalady lol. :D

Awkward…

^ Did someone call me? I was putting on pants…

ahaha oops :3 sorry laforlife!!!

@objection lol where are you planning on going? UCLA?

If I get into UCI my biggest issue is going to be choosing between UCI and UCD. UCD is giving me great aid, has anyone gotten their aid from UCI yet? Is it decent? UCD has given me the best offer compared to UCSB and UCSC.

@uchappytrain

It’s ok lol.

Does anyone have any idea how they input decisions into the online system? Why were there two different batches last night at different times?

i know this has nothing to do with UCI… but is there anyway to see the upper division requirements for your major? If I go to UCI or UCD I would still have 3 pre reqs to complete along with my upper division requirements.

Looks like UCI isn’t releasing a batch tonight. I’ve been checking my UCI account for the past hour, and it’s still pending :(

@Happytrain,
I’m 95% attending UCI cause the FA package is just a little bit bigger due to regents. Priority registration and money are all that matter to me. I’m pretty malleable. I’m sure some lucky UCLA waitlister is jumping for joy. Et toi?

@La42692, you got more aid for Davis? Really? For mines, they required I pay ~3k by myself. I was sad, cause I really considered Davis for its awesome campus.

Above is my FA package for UCI, bottom is Davis - http://■■■■■■■.com/7eg4wyg</a>
Btw, link will dead later…

@ uchappytrain: Do you mean the courses in order to graduate? If you go to the dept’s website for your major it should show all the courses. I haven’t really looked into it in detail but it looks kind of confusing at first. It will say like you need this many units from this section of classes and this many units from that section of classes etc, but i don’t know if all the classes are the same number of units or what.

@uchappytrain

They have it on their website. Just look up major in its department and requirements and see what classes fulfill them.

@Objection, that’s a pretty nice financial package compare to mine :stuck_out_tongue: My financial award for UCSB and UCR barely make up to 20k >< If I live on campus, it will cost me at least 10k out of my own pocket.

@Objection I’ve already done my SIR for UCD, buuuut if UCSD offers me a spot (i’m waitlisted :/) I would gladly cancel my SIR to UCD and attend UCSD.

@Dizzle thanks I’ll check that out right now

@Fallingdown,
Yea, living costs are something to consider. I live in OC, so Irvine is near. I’m living on campus my first year though, just to TRY to be independent. We’ll see… I’m guessing your EFC was higher than mine?

@Happytrain,
D’aw! I was hoping you might say UCI. Ahaha. But congrats! I was SIR’d to UCSD as a freshman but there was that whole financial aid fiasco. I didn’t appreciate how it was so difficult to contact anybody on the phone and anyone who did answer were just helpful and rude. The friends that go there love it though. What college?

@objection thanks for posting that! gives me an idea. UCSB and UCSC wanted me to pay 10-11k by loans or whatever, but davis wants me to pay 5k. That’s great you only have to pay 3 though. UCI shows you need a loan of 4776 thats more than davis unless im interrupting these financial aid packages wrong lol.

@Objection, Haha, I’m lost on what you mean by “changed your username”. But I agree with your take living on campus. Trying to be independent is a part of growing up in our early 20’s anyways XD And no, I doubt my EFC is any higher than students on this forum. My family makes less than 30k.

@La,
No problem! Yea, I wouldn’t want to pay that much. You read the UCI loan part right, but the UCD part is a little tricky. Davis wants me to pay $3676 as labeled by “Student Self Help Expectation” PLUS there is another loan for $5500 labeled “Federal Direct Loan Sub”.

@Fallingdown,
Yea…I edited my post. My mind is jumbled.
Anyways, yeah. So I hope others at UCI also live on campus, because UCI is known as a commuter school. Don’t worry, my family makes way less than that too. My EFC wasn’t 0 though, unlike some people (124, actually).
