Official UCI Transfer admittance Thread

@objection oh crap! I totally didn’t notice that…man so UC Davis is the same as sb and sc laaame…

@La,
Sorry if I ruined Davis for you. D:
But yea, it was a bummer seeing that on the FA package. The campus is really nice and vibrant too. I guess the only real fault was the lack of Asian foods for me. UCI has awesome food all around cause its the OC! Haha.
EDIT: And technically, you only pay ~8k instead of 10-11k?

@objection haha its alright its about the same as the other schools so its no biggie. i live about 45 minutes away from davis so it was a backup if i dont get uci. there’s always sac for asian food! i still would love to go to uci for the so cal living plus the major makes more sense for me career wise so HOPEFULLY i get in and they give me good financial aid

@La,
Haha. Alright. And its a good backup! I’m sure it Sacramento has great food but I haven’t even explore everything down here! Haha. What do you look forward to the most about “SoCal living”? Beaches? I know a bud who said he wouldn’t go anywhere else cause of the beaches. I hope you do get in with an awesome FA package. Good luck!

@objection I picked Roosevelt as my first college affiliation choice, but you never know where they will place you. I honestly would be happy with anything but Revelle.

@objection Beaches, the music scene (lots of bands play in pomona or la so its near by), the weather haha… thanks i hope so too

@Happytrain,
Wait, they didn’t confirm which college yet? Roosevelt is pretty nice cause they have the newest buildings. It was like UCSD’s paradise cause it was so far away from the rest of the colleges, ahaha.

@La,
Yeah, beaches are awesome. They’re about 15-20 minutes away! Funny thing is, next week my biology class is heading to the beach for lab because its so close. Weather was probably a big thing for me too, cause NorCal is cooler than SoCal, right? My family jokes that I’m a coldblooded alien/reptile, because I’m constantly cold and I only get warm when its blazing hot outside. And music is pretty self-explanatory, but in terms of music actually playing on campus I think LA and SD are probably better right? I remember my friends all raving about Childish Gambino/Don Glover at LA and Sun God.

anyone get any decisions tonight?

@ objection: lol about the asian food stuff. My gf is graduating this fall and is moving in with me wherever I ended up transferring. She did not want to go to SB because of the lack of asian food. So I decided on Davis since Sac town is next door and you can get that stuff there. It’s all gravy for me though, I don’t really care about it. But since I’m going to LA now, everyones happy. haha

mmmhmmm oc and their asian food. gotta love it!

@objection no bc i’m waitlisted, they can still reject me if not enough spaces open up

@iDizzle,
Ahaha, well its not just Asian food! But yeah, still pretty significant. I’m happy about going to UCI cause in Irvine there is a sushi restaurant that has the best and most unique green tea ice cream. I literally go there just for the ice cream. I’ll be so happy I don’t have to go on the fwy go get some sweetness no. And yay for everyone! Yeah, LA has got some great stuff that is also opened 24 hrs, unlike most of OC which seems to be dead after 10 PM.

@IcedEspresso,
I know right? Btw, your username makes me hungry. D:

@Happytrain,
Oh I see. Well I hope all works out for you then!

Wellllpp, I’m going to call it a night otherwise I’ll drool in my sleep due to all the food talk. Good night, everyone!

hehe i’m not sure about hungry but i do love it’s caffeine properties! LA def has better places open later but irvine has some decent late night places. I’m glad they have a 24 hour BCD Tofu House! I’ll probably frequent that place a lot for late night munchies once I get into UCI! :]

@objection:Yeah OC has great sushi places i’ve heard. i have not been though but I remember people always going to irvine for sushi back in highschool. I’m asian and all, but for LA I’m more in it for the mexican food =]. lol. Although sushi in little tokyo, and chinese food in san gabriel is nice =]. Oh and don’t forget all you can eat korean bbq for 10 bucks in ktown! LOL

I find it amusing that there’s couple of people here that keeps talking about how happy they are that they got into some schools other than UCI and go on to saying how they never were too interested in the school anyways.

Call me crazy but I thought this thread should be dedicated to those that have passion for UCI and put the school as their first choice in the applications.

I personally got into other schools besides UCI but UCI has always been my first choice and I don’t go around saying UCLA or whatever other schools are “better schools” than UCI.

@JYJY311 true to that.

and hey guys, i don’t mean to be disrespect. but please also be considerate to others and keep it under topic. there are some people who haven’t received their decision and would love to check this thread for UCI news not all of those unrelated stuff. Honestly, I literally have to scroll all the way to this page and knowing too many unnecessary and unrelated stuff.

@sweatingbullets I’m a Public Health Policy Major. you?

Does anyone know if Public Health Policy at UCI is an impacted major?

any other non-tag computer science majors that have been accepted? i saw one dude here get accepted yesterday (recent acceptances).

Any decisions this morning? It seems like my application status will never change as we approach May 1st… =/
