UCLA is lying when they say that URSA is not indicative of their decision. I got my decision through URSA in 2006- about 5 days b4 the actual decision page was updated.

Also, URSA is like the main UCLA thing, you can do everything that needs to be done through URSA. Example, if you do not update your URSA graduation date properly then they will withhold your degree until it matches the day you stated even if you go and register for your degree at the registrars office.
URSA Is like your control center for UCLA, all of your academic holds, grades, EVERYTHING is in URSA.

lol, i just told my parents i've been accepted to UCLA (this URSA thing is pretty much fool proof, transfers to UCLA from Fall 2007 are telling us this is fool proof), and they were... less than excited about it. I finally pressed them and they admitted that since I'm the third kid, second to transfer, the excitement has died.

After careful review of your application for admission, we regret to inform you that we are unable to offer you admission for the Fall Quarter 2008. Let me assure you that we understand and share your disappointment.

UCLA continues to receive more applications for admission than we can accommodate. For fall 2008, we received more than 15,000 applications for about 3,200 transfer spaces. Given the high caliber of the applicant pool, admission decisions were difficult and involved hard choices. Our decision is not a reflection of your potential to be a successful university student, nor is it meant to minimize your accomplishments. Rather, it is a reflection of the highly competitive admissions process at UCLA.

Preparation for the declared major, as well as the entire academic program and grades earned, were critical elements in the assessment for admission at UCLA. In addition, we take into consideration the educational opportunities and challenges faced by each student from information provided in the application file. Applications were evaluated within the context of the applicant pool, and no single attribute or achievement guaranteed admission.

We are positive that you have considered other universities and wish you every success in achieving your educational goals.
