are there ppl still waiting

Dman, thanks for getting back to me, and it sounds like you really deserved it. Again, congratulations.
rbkhoops21, I’m waiting, but they said they have sent me some sort of letter, via snail mail, so I’m not sure what that’s going to contain.

i got my rejection in the mail today. they didn’t have to send hard copy of it >;[ that was kinda cold.
i got a rejection online on tuesday first, though.

I got accepted off my appeal! But, accepted for Fall 2010. I recieved a letter in the mail, stating that I would be accepted to the college of Letters and Sciences, Fall term, 2010, if I submitted an application this Fall and completed 30 UC transferrable units. The letter said those units could be obtained from a community college. I called to verify this, and they said that there was no mistake, so I plan on attending UC Santa Cruz for the next year, and going to UCLA in 2010. I couldn’t be happier, and I did not expect this to happen, my grades and test scores from high school are very low. It goes to show that they really look at more than academics.

Oh, I was beginning to think everyone who got rejected by appeal is getting mailed a letter. When I logged in it said they mailed the letter with their decision. I was expecting the worse since they didn’t put the decision online like the first time. I asked to be considered for a different major.

dont really understand what UCs is doing- i hope them be more fair to everyone else although fairness sometimes cant be meassured- bunch of people have great personality- but they just cant see it- the one ns2675 is the case that made me think that what ucla is doing- bunch of people have passion about the school- why you exceptional- didnt they already state that to apply next year-

I sent a letter explaining why I would like to go to UCLA, updated transcript, updated resume, My phi theta kappa advisor sent a recommendation stating I’m in the top 10% of my graduating class at my community college, and my literature professor sent a recommendation stating my passion for literature & film.

I first applied as a film major but asked to be considered for comparative literature or English.

Hi. I’ve never used this before, but I was thinking about appealing a rejection from UCLA because, well, I feel like maybe I’ve got a shot.
Here’s my stats:
GPA:3.9
AP TESTS: 13
SAT II Scores: USH 760, French 760
SAT: 2080
ACT: 33
Varsity Track/XC
Drama
Community Service
Summer Classes (not summer school, but extra school) every year
My GPA’s, from sophmore fall to junior spring are as follows: 3.3, 3.5, 4.2, 4.8
My senior fall (which I know they don’t really count but i figured it could help was a 4.7)
The reason why my sophmore year grades are so low, which i didn’t really explain on my application, is because i transfered from an east coast boarding school halfway through spring semester to a california high school. Therein, i was unable to be elidgble for elc or anything. and it really sucked, so i was kind of in a bad place. But obviously, as seen by both my test scores and my recent gpas, I’m a smart kid.
Is there any way I could have a chance?

im appealing for sure.

Do you guys think I have a shot? All of my friends had similar stats and got in :[.

AP TESTS: 5 AP Stats 5 AP Chem~ Taking 4 more Senior year
SAT II Scores: Math2C 800, Chemistry 800. Biology 700
SAT: 2230 – “I sent my SAT scores right before the deadline! They might have not gotten my 2230 Im afraid”
Classes: I’m taking all honors/AP classes.
Essay: I believe it was really solid and showed I was a good writer.
EC- Officer positions in a couple clubs

Community Service- Volunteer at hospital, and some other stuff

Negatives: I take a community college class every summer, and right after freshman year, I took English 101A, which was ridiculously hard. I received a C, and I put it under my sophomore year grades.

Do i have a chance?

has anyone ever appealed theater?

If someone applied engineering and got rejected, but has changed his/her views can they appeal to L&S?
