official UCLA email address?

Hi, I just submitted my SIR, but I don't think I was prompted to accept an official UCLA email.
(the one with "@ucla.edu") Did I miss a step or something or is there somewhere I need to go to get one. I've been searching around and have unable to find an answer. I've tried logging into http://mail.ucla.edu but I am unable to login with my username and password.

I haven’t submitted my SIR, but i noticed on the personalized “My UCLA” page, if you go to the link for webmail on the left side menu, you can make your own ucla email address. i think thats how its done, not sure though.

right after you submit your SIR, your email address should be released. You can access it after logging into MyUCLA ([MyUCLA](http://my.ucla.edu/)) and clicking on the “Webmail” link. Your email address is userloginID@ucla.edu/email.

I’ve tried this and it just doesn’t work. I’m using the same password and it still says login failed. I guess I’m gonna have to contact them or something.

Ohh so its assigned these days?

Can you log onto URSA or any of the other UCLA site (like housing, financial aid, etc)? If you can login onto any of the UCLA site and you have your cookies enabled, then you can simply go to myUCLA without logging in.

Yes i can log into every site, when i go to myUCLA and click on webmail, it prompts a login with the fields:

username: (my username is already inputed here: *****@ucla.edu)
password:

So when I input my password (the same one i’ve been using for all the sites), I get a popup box that says username/password is invalid or something. Therefore I’m guessing they never made an address for me, or at least there is some other password for it, which doesn’t really make sense since I don’t ever making a new one.

EDIT: I’m also wondering for the people who submitted their SIR if they got a confirmation e-mail? I know on URSA it says that it was completed and the deposit was received, but I never received a confirmation e-mail. On the other hand, after submitting my housing app, I immediately got a confirmation email. I’m just trying to make sure they actually got my SIR, or this could turn out to be very annoying.

I would suggest wait for a few days, it usually take 2-3 days for UCLA to process SIR. If it still doesn’t work, then contact them.

Does it say on the login screen that your SIR was accepted? I only tried to access the webmail after it was accepted and it works fine for me.
