uhhh… kinda sucks… 1st rejection. Kind of ****es me off too. One of my friends got in last year with a 3.4 UC GPA and a 1950 SAT. Oh well, USC might be the way to go then.

^^^That’s 1 Accepted and 4 Rejected. If I wasn’t that clear before lol

55000 applicants, and only 20% get in. That the way stats works, along with holistic admissions (high weight on essays, explains why people with 1300 SAT Is can still get in. Class ranking helps too, in a way).

Just check it now :)

I got in the honors program at UCi, and I got a Dean’s scholarship at USC, and got crazy invites at other top schools…
This ****es me the f off…

they say they hav 4700 spots, does that mean they offered to 4700 or more

I was rejected. I expected it, but I didn’t know it would hurt this much… Guess I’m off to UCSD.

I think my essays were better than most. No offense or anything. I’m just extremely bitter to the max. This is ridiculous. I just want to not go to school. Now, I’m just wishing for UCB, but I doubt myself after today’s rejection. UCLA was my goal.

Bad economy…
State budget crisis…
Maybe they were bracing themselves for the education cuts to come?
…
Anyone know if UCs are doing the same things as CSUs? Admitting people in their “district/region” first? Maybe northern California students will have a better chance at Berkeley? Not that I’m saying I was rejected because I’m from Norcal.

I didn’t hear about CSUs doing that, but I guess it’s possible. I somewhat doubt it though. A qualified student should be accepted regardless of where he/she lives. But they may have accepted more students who were qualified and lived in SoCal.

I live in NorCal, and got into UCLA. My stats weren’t that great either.

UCLA was my dream school :[

Can’t believe I’ve been rejected. My first rejection, and it’s the one that’s most important to me.

Well, that’s it. I’m off to SD then.

mine too.
I’ve been dreaming about this day since i dont know when… but it definitely didn’t turn out as planned… i wish i could tell you guys encouraging words of wisdom or something, but i cant…
I feel like SH**… I’ve never wanted anything more in my life…

well, everything happens for a reason, i hope.

I’m sorry for all of you who actually wanted to get in. Think of it as their loss, not yours. You guys did your best.

I got rejected (my first in fact) and, to tell you the truth, I don’t even care anymore.

So for all those who are bummed out, it’s not the end of the world. You guys are still great students and no rejection can take that away. :)

Good luck to you all!

Don’t give up hope you guys- this isn’t the end of the line. There’s appeals, gap year-re-apply, transfers.

my dream school is UCB but i doubt imma get in seeing as i just got rejected from UCLA…however i do have UCSB!! beach side!! its not the end of the world guys! relax.

Plus you can always get into berkeley

sigh Now that I’ve been rejected, I’m 99.99% sure that I didn’t get into Cal either. Anyone else headed to UCSD?

Also, anyone here going to appeal?

but berkeley seems impossible, seeing a rejection from ucla…
hope i get into usc… or i’ll be heading to ucsd… even though ucsd was my dream school when i started my freshman year.

Me, definitely. I doubt I can get into Cal, but even if I did, I think I’d pick SD over it. I love Berkeley and all, but I think I’ve spent way too long in NorCal. Time to broaden my horizons.

You going too blackberry?

meh, rejected! :(
