OPTIONS:
I got into UCI for business admin. BUT after all this hard work, i think i’ll have to go to a community college for only a year because of my ap classes to transfer to either UCLA or CAL.

What do you guys think about the california community college system? Wouldnt it be easier to get straight A’s and who knows you might get regeants scholarship for UC’s right?

Generally community college courses are easier. There are some exceptions, but if you got straight A’s at a competitive high school, you will probably get straight A’s at a community college. I nearly got straight A’s while working full time. I could study for finals 2 hours before my class and still get As on certain classes. Too easy!

Looking back at some of the earlier posts in this thread, I really hope yall realize that 3 columns does not mean a rejection. I had three columns and I was accepted.

I’m confused about the three columns thing. I signed up for a login at ursa but it wont connect me through.

However i did go to the official ucla website where theres a link to input your name, birthday, and where you were born. And then i got my answer there.

Would the economic crisis be a very big factor this year? I have a feeling that since my mom makes less than 30k and has an EFC of 0, they did not want to accept me because they need money.

Your case is perplexing. You are ELC, ranked first, GPA of 4.4… all of which UCLA values highly. As does Berkeley, so you might still be admitted there. Plus you do have great ECs, so March 26 may be your day…

Still, why did you not apply to UCSD – below your “prestige standard”? You say you got into UCI Business which is am impacted major, so if Business is what you want to study, UCI and USC are the best after Berk…

rainshadow your sat scores are a bit low. maybe going to diamond bar high school hurt you because everyone there is asian and takes SAT classes.

To theblacklantern:
Lol yeah iono i guess it did hurt me…everyone here has supreb sat scores. Anyways i cant afford to have SAT classes * sniffles* My parents make under 30 K …

To Brassring:
sigh It wasnt because SD wasnt to my prestige standards it’s just that i didnt think about it along with usc. My fault i guess…

Anyways now i wish i did apply. Never knew it was this competitive, I should have done sports, taken college courses over high school, higher sats, gone to AFrica or something. lol

You still have a good shot at Berkeley. Don’t know how you didn’t make UCLA, but I know a couple of top students from Walnut High School who got rejected from UCLA as well.

I just went to the UCLA undergraduate Admissions and Relations site and logged in there… and i got this:

"Dear Awesome Applicant:

We have received your application for Fall Quarter 2009. However, admission decisions have not yet been made for our transfer applicants. We plan to begin notifying transfer applicants of our decisions starting in late April. Please check with us again around that time.

It’s marked the March 22, 2009… so… at least i can assume i’m not rejected… yet. lol

@brassring: Aha. Yeah. And I’m such a bitter kid. I’m happy for her anyway.

@jazzymom: I knew I should have applied for engineering–which she did mark as her major. I don’t know why I didn’t. I applied for physics instead. I applied for engineer at UCB. So, I have my fingers crossed. But, movicontr may be right. :|
