Official UCR Fall 2014 Transfer Thread

@schoolcomputer @Ragtime I am in the same boat. The suspense is killing me.

FYI: If your tabs disappear and you are only left with “Account Home” and “My Profile” it is not a good sign :frowning:

@kva019 My tabs are all there but that doesn’t help at all! Still waiting and hoping to hear good news!

Decision: Accepted Fall 2014

@BlaiseAM Congrats! I also thought I was the only one here that applied to UCM, haha.

@mental2, i just applied to them all for backups, might as well right? haha

@mental2 I also applied for UCM. I’m still waiting from them as well.

so i logged on and still no decision, but the colorful notification banners popped up and “tell us what you think” came up again.

@Ragtime Did your homepage say at the bottom in red, “Error loading page. Please refresh” Because I got that too and the spotlight, but that is just a system error.

@Ragtime @schoolcomputer. Same here. It does display the “Error loading page. Please refresh”. It’s been doing this periodically and at least all the tabs are there on mine. This is getting ridiculous lol

I rec’d an email from UCR on March 18 at 4:36 pm with acceptance.
As for the “official” letter , I read it takes three weeks to receive in the mail.

Decision: Accepted Fall 2014

Which other UC’s did you apply to?

Good luck to all who are waiting on letters!

I also rec’d an email about financial aid, they are still reviewing my application.

I got admitted! March 18! Sociology/Business Admin Major . Sadly I applied to UCLA, UCSB && UCI as well and havent heard back from those schools just yet and apparently since I work at UCLA in the AAP Administration office i found out that Transfers wont hear back from UCLA until late April like the 20th-25th. So, wish me luck with Housing lol.

Decision: Accepted (Today)

I rec’d my federal aid package today from UCR. I am quite pleased with their package. The page said my aid was generated on March 21st but was only notified today the 26th of March. I have until May 1st to accept or decline my aid package.

@xxcapital @transfereee

Just checked MyUCR last night and found out I got rejected. Bio Major with 3.62 GPA. Finished IGETC. Missing OChem and Physics. Did you guys do all the other prereqs?

@enferrari Would the letter of rec really help in appealing? My Bio professor is willing to write me one.

@juroopiloo I’m sorry hear that you got rejected :(. Hopefully you have a school that accepted you that’s your first choice.

I did complete my IGETC and pre reqs. Which is weird because I wouldn’t have thought a low tiered UC would even care about all of the pre reqs regardless. According to the UCSD thread, they don’t care much about pre reqs since it brings in more revenue but idk

@juroopiloo yeah give it a shot. it doesn’t hurt. Just make sure to write a great appeal and include a letter of recommendation even if they say “not required” it helps.

Also, I’m surprised you got rejected. Your stats are pretty good.

Even though you’re missing ochem that shouldn’t be a huge deal.

I got rejected today as well. I was kind of surprised since I had a tag for UCSC under Human Bio. I wad wondering what could I write for my appeal? I had a 3.5 overall gpa.

Decision (including term): Accepted Fall 2014
Intended Major: Political Science/International Affairs
UC GPA: 3.34
Major GPA: 4.0
IGETC: Partial.

Which other schools did you apply to?
Applied: UCSD, UCI, UCLA, SDSU
Accepted:UCR, SDSU
Rejected:
Pending: UCSD, UCI, UCLA

I TAG’d into UCR, however, I just had to drop three classes so my TAG is now void. I just emailed UCR and updated my transfer application, so I will just have to wait to see if my admission is rescinded. I have extenuating circumstances, so hopefully they will be understanding.

I went in to see my counselor when I dropped the classes. She was going over my classes and realized that, although my AP Environmental Science class counted as either a physical or life science plus a lab, IGETC only gives 3 units for the class. I am taking Physical Anthropology for my life science, but am not taking the lab. This leaves me with all of the class requirements met, but one unit short of the full IGETC. On the flip side, AP ES counts as a physical science plus lab and 4 units for the CSU GE breadth. At least I will have completed the GE requirements for the one school that requires GE completion before transfer.

It’s crazy I got in with such an impacted major and an extremely low GPA, I am probably going to SIR when I get my other decisions back. I am probably going to live at Sterling apartments as well
