wow lucky you, they ran out of all of those .___. @moniiique

@drew26 how do you know? I just selected it as my 1st choice, I haven’t received any housing offers yet…

Well after I applied for housing, I called to see the availability and they said there were no 2 bedrooms/1bath available anymore. All that’s left are 4 bedrooms/2bath and I’m sure there are a lot of those, at least that’s what the representative told me. @moniiique

@drew26 oh well that good to know! i wasnt dying to have a 2bedroom but sharing with 1 girl vs. 3 girls sounded a lot better. @_@

@drew26 it’s funny because I saw a lot of your post at the uci transfer thread. If you end up going to ucr, I think we’ll end up at the same school for the same major. I think you mention that you are going into ucr for neuroscience?

Yea my major is neuroscience, B.A, hoping to change it to the B.S, and cool! Are you waitlisted as well for UCI? @hypothesis

@drew26 I was flat out rejected for uci. Which I found weird because I did a honor’s transfer program from my cc campus.

Yeah, UCR accepted me as B.A and I am also planning on changing it to B.S.
You sound pretty on top of things. I’m looking for campus apartment to live in right now and I’m stressing over about a place to live…

Do you know why you were rejected? and major for uci? And I was in the honors transfer program as well, but unfortunately it does nothing. TAG is the way to go, but I didn’t do it. Yea hopefully I do the same and change it! And I was pretty stressed out about living situation but all there is now is living with 3 other people at Glen Mors. And on campus housing give you more financial aid I guess so why not lol. I haven’t reserved an apt yet or put a deposit, because I’m still waiting on UCI in June, but it seems they wont take anybody off of the waitlist so UCR IT IS! haha @hypothesis

@drew26 Yah, I guess it’s okay to look for a place to live later as we get closer to the fall quarter. I called housing today and they said that housing opening change everything because people cancel. They have a 1 room 1 bed room shared in the plaza available. I think rent for that is like 500 something.

Good luck with UCI. Keep in touch with me if you end up at riverside, Drew. :p

@drew26 Oh it would be funny if we are transferring from the same campus!

Yea for sure! And which campus? @hypothesis

Does anyone know if it’s possible to change major?

You gotta call the college that you wanna change your major into

@JIMMYofW i havent tried it but i think… if you can go to my.ucr then click the “my profile” theres a tab that says “change my major” you can select from a drop down what major you want to change it too.

@moniiique Thank you, I actually did try the next day and it worked for me too (: Also I had a question, I applied for financial aid through fafsa but I originally submitted a different school code because I hadn’t heard from UCR yet. So I went back and made the changes for the school code and I also called the UCR financial aid office and the lady told me I’m fine and my application is considered on time since I originally applied before the deadline and am just making changes. I was wondering how much it says your getting on your award letter. My is still being processed since it wasn’t too long ago that I made the changes. I just want to have an idea of how much lol

Btw I will be going to transfer day this Saturday so hope to see you guys there! ;)

@Mellykelly29 it entirely depends on your EFC… but I got ~$2900 in pell grant ~$17k in UCR grant aid and about ~$9k in loans.

Yeah I know it depends on that I just wanted an idea because I’ve only attended community college so I had no idea what the minimum difference would be for a UC. Thank you, it was very helpful (: Do you remember how long it took for you to receive your award letter after you submitted your application through fafsa?

@moniiique

@Mellykelly29 it also depends if you are dependent or an independent student. I’m independent. Last year when I was dependent I only received 4k in loans so hopefully you hear back soon. Well I’m not too sure when I was accepted to ucr but I received an email may 8th I had a financial aid offer and that’s when I seen I was admitted. I believe it shouldn’t be too long since you are admitted already maybe 2 weeks. My brother just got accepted to ucsd and is waiting for his offer as well.
