Official UCR Fall 2014 Transfer Thread

Thanks @moniiique‌! I actually filed as dependent so you’re right, I’m just going to have to wait and see lol Congrats to your brother and thanks for your help! (:

See you guys at transfer day. My name is Andrew btw
Are parents allowed?

I’m not going to transfer day since I have class tomorrow. Can you guys fill me on all the good stuff please?

I wish I can go tho. I’m kinda a loner and I have no friends. So it would be super awesome to make friends. I’m also homeless when I transfer to Riverside. So I’m looking for a place to live. (:

Have fun at transfer day. :stuck_out_tongue:

See you everyone at transfer day :)

Hey guys, my SIR was received yesterday but I can’t find my NetID anywhere. Does it take a few days?

Could someone pleaseeee do a synopsis of transfer day tomorrow? I have to work and cannot go :frowning: I would be very thankful! (:

@ragtime it takes up to 3 business days to appear.

@moniique I’m getting ready to go. I’ll fill you guys in :)

@moniique I already signed and made my deposit for an apartment in glen mor so if your staying there you’ll be my neighbor
@Mellykelly29‌ I also got 17k UCR grant then 1.5k of a transfer scholarship but that’s all(I get the 17k as long I stay on campus)

Major: Math
GPA: 3.3
Applied to: UCR UCI UCSD UCLA
Accepted to: UCR UCLA
Wait listed to: UCI UCSD

@Jpare003‌ thank you so much! (:
Out of curiosity did you get an offer for housing and made the deposit or did you apply and leave a deposit? I wasn’t sure what I was supposed to do. I applied but never put a deposit.

So today I went to transfer day. I liked it, met really nice people. The students were really nice. They actually split you up by branch, so if you guys want me to tell you what we (CNAS) did ill gladly share it.

Oh and @moniique, you apply online. Then what I did was go to the housing service office and tell her you applied (you can also call, but I was already on campus). She’s going to look you up and tell you the apartments available. Then you pick and there! She sends you the contact through email you complete it and pay the deposit within a four day period.

@Jpare003‌ I was wondering if they told you when you would be registering for Fall 2014 classes?

@Jpare003‌ whatttt? That’s so easy! I hope there is space left in glen mor! I’m going to ucr on Thursday so I’ll probably see what’s left then. Anything you can share that’s general info! (:

@hypothesis‌ yes if I remember correctly they said transfer orientation is the 27th of August. That day you pick classes. A tip they told us was “meet with our advisors before that day because they are going to be really busy on orientation day.” I guess you can check online to see who your advisor is and email them. For me I have to go to CNASstudent.ucr.edu and check. I haven’t done yet but when I do I I’ll tell you more throughly :)

@moniiique‌ yes it is. I’m sure there is. That place is going to be huge! I went today. They’re building a 24hr gym, a pool, a market place. Plus the building I pick is going to be one of the new ones with new furniture  I picked year round instead of school year.

@Ragtime‌ just to my.ucr.edu log in. Then towards mid-right there’s a tab that’s labeled “MY UCR IDs” click there and the second to last is your NetID

@jpare003 Nice! Do you think they would tell me its a new building if I call? I also picked year round instead of school year. It only seemed like it was a few more days then the school year, but I was too excited applying I probably missed something haha. Are you from the riverside area?

@moniiique‌ no they don’t tell you. I just saw a map of the current buildings in glen mor & m wasn’t there. But it looked like m was under construction :)

Yes I’m from the riverside county area. The southern part(40 mins). What about you?

@Jpare003‌ Good to know, now im going to look at the map and see what new buildings would be new hahaha. I am from San Diego county, very south San Diego county, probably about 100 miles or so away.

After attending transfer day, i’m really excited to attend UCR. :)

@bjt223 The more I research the campus the more excited I get haha!

Also, I forgotten to ask… is anyone transfering thats 23 or older? I’m 24 and going to be a junior kinda worried I’m going to be the old person, relatively speaking…
