Official UCR Fall 2014 Transfer Thread

Anyone having trouble getting to the login?

@kva019 yeah, the page isn’t loading for some reason. i’m assuming you’re talking about the my.ucr.edu site

I hope I get in… I have a 2.86 gpa and my intended major is Psychology. I have 6/8 prereqs and only missing the foreign language section on IGETC. I did take another course related to my major though, wonder if that would help.

@Ragtime You’re correct. Still trying to no avail.

Probably doesn’t matter as I am trying to transfer for EE. Looking at the previous year threads, Engineering transfers typically find out towards the end of the month. Or right away. Or in the middle. Who knows with this F-ed up review process.

GPA: 3.34
Degree: Electrical Engineering
IGETC: Complete
Essay: I think it was pretty damn good but it may be a biased review
EC: Nothing special due to 6 day, 45-50 hour work weeks.

Initially applied to Riverside as a back up but now it is a serious toss up b/t UCI and UCR (UCLA is a long shot) due to prices, research, and class sizes. Still bummed I would have to move from LA County to Riverside. Not to thrilled about that as I am not too fond of Riverside. Luckily I have a bike so if I wanted to come back I wouldn’t have any traffic and wouldn’t cost to much in gas 8->

Also applied to UCI, UCLA, UCSD (CSUF, CSULB, Cal Poly Pomona)

Went to Oregon State from '06-08 and hit the parties harder than the books. Started going to CC in '11 to now working and going to school full time. Been tough the last few years but hopefully it’ll payoff.

If any one gets accepted for EE, post up your credentials if you don’t mind!

For those wondering about acceptance dates for the other UCs…heres some helpful info from ■■■■■■■■■■■■:

Davis - all decisions should become available at MyAdmissions in late April

Irvine - decisions will come out in batches at MyAdmission and Message Center between April 1 and April 30 (confirmed)

UCLA - all decisions should become available at Admission Decisions in late April

Merced - decisions will come out in batches at MyUCMerced between March 1 and April 30 (confirmed)

Riverside - decisions will come out in batches at MyUCR starting March 1, 2014 (confirmed)

Also, if I happened to get rejected from the other UC’s and end up going to riverside, any cool peeps looking to live in Glen Mor? lol

I’m also having trouble logging in. I hope they’re finally releasing all the admissions lol

Decision (including term): Accepted Fall 2014
Intended Major: Japanese
UC GPA: 3.68
Major GPA: 4.0
IGETC: Yes

Which other UC’s did you apply to?
Applied: UCR, UCD, UCLA, UCSD, UCSB, UCI
Accepted:UCR
Rejected:
Pending: UCD, UCLA, UCSD, UCSB, UCI

and btw I got the email from UCR today at around 4:20pm.

I received the UC Verification thing in January where you have to show proof of something you stated in your application. (It was due on January 31) Do you think because I received this, it will delay my admission decision?

^ Stop asking this in threads that are unrelated.

^ale2194 I should have clarified that I am awaiting my decision for UC Riverside. I’m just really anxious and would like to know if the UC verification can play a role in delaying the whole process.

My daughter got her UCR acceptance email on March 4. We did not expect it this early. It is not really the major she wanted, but she decided to apply to all the UCs. Hopefully, the others will come through. Otherwise it’s all good. I have a feeling the others will be a few weeks off.

GPA: 4.2 weighted
GPA: 4.0 unweighted
IGETC: yes
Major: sociology administration (or something like that)
Internships: 2
A lot of volunteering, some leadership

The majors she has applied to at the other UCs are Psychology or Communications (both impacted). UCR had a load of Psych major requirements she hadn’t completed. Hence, the sociology major.

March4, connect with my daughter if you end up @ UCR. You two may be in the same boat! BTW, I noticed some ppl are going to switch majors. Isn’t that hard if it’s impacted?

lindyk8, how does your daughter have a weighted/unweighted GPA in CC?

@smltk1505h

lol, that caught my attention too. I’m curious to know how I can earn a GPA exceeding 4.0 in college. :O

Perhaps she took some graduate classes. :P

maybe i have it wrong but she has Honors classes. I believe her advisor told it added to the 4.0, and gave her that figure, but maybe I don’t have it right. He wasn’t the best advisor.

@lindyk8

lol, I don’t think he knows what he’s talking about. Regardless, it’s great that your daughter excels in school. 4.0 or 4.2, her GPA makes her an extremely competitive applicant for all of the UCs.

Thx Cayton, its been a long haul, let’s just leave it at that. (These emoticons are massively ugly.)

Do they release a batch once a week?
