Official UCR Fall 2014 Transfer Thread

Are you guys contract year round or academic year?

@drew26 I got a year-round contract.

ok same same, doesn’t that make more sense? @moniiique‌

btw parking permit, is $560 for the whole year. I asked when I went to transfer day

I’m also doing yearly contract as well.

@drew26 well I’m hoping to go to summer school so it made sense. I think it’s the same price too!

Oh okay cool I wonder if that includes summer.

@moniiique You’re doing summer school at UCR? Will you be living in UCR?

@bjt223 I meant next summer sorry! Basically I’m plan on living at ucr from sept 2014 till I graduate which is hopefully June 2016

Guys register for orientation!!! It’s avaliable!

Lol I think I was literally the first one to sign up for orientation when I received that email lol

40 bucks?! What are we even paying for exactly?

@drew26 I already sign up too. They only give me one date as option. What was that about?

First, congrats to those who got in!
I have a daughter starting at UCI in the fall and transfer son at UCR this fall: son is reg for orientation, has housing in glen Mor. UCR has been VERY helpful and responsive. UCI: no date for registering for orientation yet, housing. Dorms might be overfilled. No idea when they’ll send housing offers. Dad’s not happy with UCI ( even though I’m an alum) She turned lots of scholarship $$ and the honors program at UCR to go to UCI, may not turn out to be the best choice.

I know UCR might not have been the #1 choice for some if you, but it’s a great school , they seem to be focused on the success of their transfers. It might just be the best overall choice.

I was offered three dates, I just chose the earliest so that I could get classes @bjt223‌ and Congrats for your daughter and your son! I was pretty bummed about being put on a waitlist but at this point I don’t give a crap anymore. It’s just undergrad. It’s all one curriculum if you ask me. UCI this year seems pretty annoying, on the late responses and all of the other things. I am also at glen mors. It’s a nice campus, and I think this is best suited for me. @CollegedadUCI87‌

@collegedadUCI87 I must say the admissions at UCR have been the most helpful of all. It’s crazy. I got my orientation sign up, got my apartment right away, and forgiven for any years that you sub perform on class. If I ever came out successful, I would be thankful to UCR for giving me this opportunity while other UC’s do not. I can’t wait to prove everyone wrong.

@drew26 I did the same thing! I saw it and was like I have to go day 1! I don’t need slim pickings for classes.
It said parking, food, and the actual orientation cost.

@collegedaduci87 Congrats on your both daughter and son acceptance to a UC system. One of the best in the countries and I wish everything well for both of them.

Hi Everyone! I’m glad I found this thread! I’m going to be attending UCR in the Fall. I made my final decision after going to Transfer Day. There was just something about the campus that made me feel so welcomed and comfortable. I’m a Business Economics Major and I’ll be living in Glen Mor- A202 - 1B. Nice to meet everyone :)

WELCOME GLEN MOR NEIGHBOR!

Thank you! @drew26 I’m excited!!
