Official UCR Fall 2014 Transfer Thread

@eratheservant , @xxcapital , @transfereee ; Did your tabs disappear and then you recieved the rejection notification?

I wish you all the best in your future endeavors. Don’t lose hope. I know this is a tough time right now but never, never, never give up.

@kva019 I still have the Account Home and My Profile tabs.

@mental2 I will be finished with my IGETC and prereq’s by the end of this semester. (Taking 1 IGETC and 2 major preps atm). I’m going to Cal Poly Pomona but it’d be nice to know that I could make it into UCR if I could…

I wish everybody the best and hopefully everyone can transfer somewhere or get accepted to know that they can make it.

Though I got rejected from UCR 2 years ago after HS… Does that make any difference? I would assume not because CPP got me in and the same thing happened.

Accepted
2.5 GPA
Poli Sci Major

Waiting to hear back from all other schools…

Got into UCSB and still havent heard back from UCR… GPA 3.47 Business major. What the hell is taking so long lol.

@ucsbkid521 Same here, I TAG’ed for Business Admin and still haven’t heared from them.

@xxcapital , @transfereee Come on, I thought for sure one of you two will get in. I’m still pending on mine. At least you have other options, right?

accepted computer engineering 3.6 gpa tag

@bjt223 Hope you will get in at least! I got CPP and I’m really thankful for that.

Edit: I called in UCR asking about my application but their admissions counselor was out of his office so I’ll try again later…

@transfereee What were your stats and major? Like did you finish all your Prereqs? IGETC? GPA? I can point you in the right direction with that info. I was rejected from UCI and got in when I was in HS but I decided to stick it out at a community college to save money. My friend and I both appealed the same way and you really have nothing to lose.

@xxcapital @transfereee Did not expect UCR to deny applicants so early. Were you guys rejected because you didn’t meet their requirements?

@mental2 I was missing the ochem and calculus sequence  but everything else was complete… I know people who have gotten in without all of their pre-reqs done… I didn’t think it was such a major factor. Here goes another year at cc. :frowning:

@kva019 I lost the other tabs a couple days prior to my rejection.

and thank you, but it’s hard not to be disappointed :frowning: I wish you the best of luck as well!

I’m just sad because I didn’t apply to any cal state’s because my parents only wanted me in the UC system… but I should’ve applied anyway just so I have somewhere other than community college to go to next fall…

Anyways, I do wish everyone luck on your acceptances. I hope you all get accepted to the school you applied for

@bjt223 sadly, no… still awaiting on UCI and UCD… but it’s not looking too promising :-SS

Are you still waiting to hear from UCR?

@xcyl40 everything was complete for me except for ochem and calculus series…

My GPA was fine. I believe what cost me my admissions was the fact that I failed a physics class necessary for completion prior to transferring. I’m retaking mechanics now, but I was supposed to be enrolled E&M this spring. Oh well.

dang sorry to the guys who got rejected : / i still haven’t got my decision… i have a low gpa (2.86) and missing 1 prereq and 1 igetc for psychology. i thought i was going to get some news for this “wave”

@transfereee No need to be sad for going another year of CC. I’m on my fourth year of CC as I was rejected by all the UC’s last year except I got into Cal Poly. But I really wanted to attend a UC and I probably would of settled for UC Merced. That extra year allowed me to be admitted into UCSC,UCSB, and TAG’d UCR. Since you do not have much classes that is required now, that 4th year at CC would be a great way to relieve stress but at the same time still keeps your mind sharp for school, as it did for me. Its not worth being bummed out about rejections, you have a great GPA and plenty of time to boost it even more; you’ll eventually make it into a great UC, wish you the best of luck!

Man, UCR must definitely be moving up the ladder. How are people not getting accepted with such great gpas in comparison to their pool of applicants? You guys should consider Redlands or something if you like small schools. It iIs rolling admissions. Not sure what they offer though. Maybe they are trying to make their school more competitive?

Decision: Accepted Fall 2014
Intended Major: Mechanical Engineering
GPA: 3.7

Which other UC’s did you apply to?
Applied: UCR, UCD, UCLA, UCSD, UCSB, UCM
Accepted:UCR
Rejected:
Pending: UCD, UCLA, UCSD, UCSB, UCM

Crazy how competitive transferring is!
