@Cayton - a friend went there and hated it, it was too statistically based rather than concept based on studying and fixing sociological problems, it’s less research based compared to mid-tier UC’s…idk I just personally wouldn’t pick it over the three 3 UC’s.

Does anybody know how and when we update our application with Fall 2013 grades???

Also does anyone know if you update it with Winter 2014 grades too???

@Tonystark93 - On January 8th for Fall grades

And idk about winter grades

@Matt4200

Ah, I see. That makes sense.

@TonyStark93

If your winter classes end after Jan. 31, you won’t be able to update your online application with winter grades—at least, not with a guarantee that the admissions officers will see them.

@smltk1505h

Wow, you got your email already
I still haven’t heard anything from them; should I be panicked?

I’ve applied for Fall 2014 admission as, obviously, a (junior) transfer student.
Major: Cultural Anthropology.
GPA: 4.0

I’ve also completed all pre-requisits and IGETC…

I’m actually a little worried…this is from the UCSB website - “Applied to UCSB?
After January 7, 2014 you can check your UCSB applicant portal using your UC application ID or UCSB Perm Number (perm numbers will be emailed to you throughout the month of December). Reminder, UCSB does NOT request transcripts, letters of recommendation or unsolicited supplemental information with your application. Please do not send any material unless we have requested it.”

It says the emails should’ve all gone out in December :/

@Matt4200, do you have a link for what you previously posted? (about how UCSB said all emails went out in December…) I would like to take a look at the website and perhaps try and email a UCSB representative to try and get this all sorted.

@AnthroFlo - Here’s the link

https://admissions.sa.ucsb.edu/index.asp?context=anonymous

Let me know if you guys contact any of them, I still have not received an email from any of the schools besides UCLA. Maybe that is for freshman students?

From the UCSB admissions twitter

Hey applicants! UCSB is sending out our last batches of app confirmation emails this week. If we haven’t emailed you yet, we will by Friday!

https://twitter.com/ucsbadmissions

Your welcome

That settles that. Everyone was worrying over nothing. But I guess that’s easy to say considering that I got mine so early compared to everyone else :)

Did you apply early? Or towards the end?

I submitted my app on 11/23, early afternoon. I started it and completed everything when it was first available in October except the personal statements but I highly doubt it matters what time you started the app.

No but maybe it matters when you finished it lol I didn’t submit mine til Thanksgiving Day, the 28th so maybe that’s got something to do with it, or maybe I’m just on the last on their list.

Just created my UCSB account.

But I looked on there and it says they haven’t received my FAFSA information yet, but I created it Jan. 1st, does anyone know when they should have it by, like an estimate based on what you’ve seen or heard?

bump bump bump

I just received my UCSB confirmation email.

I submitted my application on 11/3 and received my email on 12/9. Filled out my UC application update on 1/8. Just over two more months until some of us will hopefully be receiving our acceptance notices! I really hope I get in. Can’t beat the location… Especially for an advid surfer like me. I don’t even have to worry about being sober to drive to the beach! I just have to stumble by hungover ass right into the line up. Oh and I heard their academics are pretty good too…

I received my UCSB confirmation too!
So far I got emails from UCSD, UCB, UCI and UCSB, all campuses I applied for…but I did not make an account in UCSD website!!! I mean they just confirmed they have my application, but they did not give me a username and password to create an account!! Is it just me?!

Got my confirmation email today as well :)
