Official UCSB 2014 Transfer Thread

@sonic23 - just appeal lol you’ll get in

The thing I’m worried about is, I feel like my OVERALL GPA is below a 3.2 right now because of my Fall 2013 grades…

And I heard they don’t take winter grades into account even though I took Econ 1 this winter and got an “A” in it…

:’(

@TonyStark93 Im in the same situation too! I did not maintain my 3.2 gpa so my TAG for Econ/Acoounting will most likely not work anymore…

Both of you guys use this:

<a href=“Graduate Studies | Division of Graduate Studies & Career Development”>Graduate Studies | Division of Graduate Studies & Career Development;

Try to add all the units for A’s and B’s in one section.

EX:
3 - A - English
4 - A - Spanish

Is 7 A total

Do not include winter grades as they do not apply to TAG

also, only some notifications will be out today. it’s in batches

@Matt4200

The problem is not adding up the numbers.

The problem is seeing which CSU classes they will count when they factor in all my classes that are transferrable and not counting the ones that are NON-transferable.

My UCSB counselor did a pre-evaluation and said that my overall GPA comes out to 3.55, but it is not 100% confirmed until the day of evaluation.

UGH THIS IS KILLING ME…

@TonyStark93 check the CSU’s college catalog or check the classes you took the school’s website. It should state whether the course is UC-transferrable, right?

If they do release decisions according to TAU, would they count my 1st TAU that I sent Jan 8 or the last…? Because on there site it only stats they received the update I sent on the jan 8th, but it doesn’t mention the other two I sent. I sent one w/ correction of a math class I would be taking and the other with my winter grade.

@TonyStark93 if it says UC/CSU transferable they count it for UC. If it says CSU transferable only, then it does not count because UCSB is a UC.

@babyface11 - CSU courses are scarcity listed on assist and it actually is hard to tell which courses transfer to the UC’s, though most should and do some do not that’s why you’d need a professional for this situation.

@mr401k

@babyface11

It doesn’t say whether it is UC transferable or not, but this is the website and this is the class:

HUMN 224 Arts and Ideas: Asia

http://catalog.csuchico.edu/viewer/11/search/courses/HUMN.html</a></p>

ALSO, I took English 1 there and got an “A”, but I had to take English 1 again and finished with a “B” at my community college and my counselor said they will use the first grade… So yeah it’s really stressing me out because I don’t have a definite answer.

I am hoping my counselor is right with the pre-evaluation and I hope that the HUMN 224 doesn’t get counted because I got a “D” in that class back when I was a lazy bum in CSU… And I couldn’t even retake it because nobody offered anything remotely similar to that course.

oh i did not know that you took HUMN 224 in a CSU! If you took it in a CSU, then it is not transferable. My counselor told me that. That is why if you go to a CSU and want to go to a UC you have to go to CC first.

@babyface11 That’s not true; I’m applying directly from a CSU.

@cidzor

Do you have any idea which of your CSU courses will transfer or not?

Or are you just guessing?

@TonyStark93

It depends mostly by the school, but some will have course articulation histories with other schools, especially if you’re coming in from a big CSU. Most schools also have an evaluation team that you can phone, although they generally have information on only the core, breadth classes.

Other than that, it’s just using your best judgement. Only once you’re accepted will they assign units for those classes.

@cidzor

Have you tried to get a pre-evaluation by one of the counselors?

For me it seems all my classes transfer over with an exception of the HUMN 224 class.

1 and 1/2 hr more to go… :S

The site is updated, DECISION PENDING… RAWRRRRR

CHECK YOUR DECISIONS, GUYS!

:) :slight_smile: :)

OMG PENDING…

AUGH SOMEONE SHOOT ME I’M SO DAMN NERVOUS

Dude, relax. It’s only the first day.
