Official UCSC Transfer 2012 Decisions

@xelink

UCSC said that they don’t expect to admit anyone with under a 3.0 this year.

They say that every year, but I’ve seen on forums around here that people have gotten in with 2.6’s from time to time. I’m assuming that would be after March 17th, after they have already updated the FAQ for the year. Of course, I’m sure its not that common…

However. On their website it states:

“Admission by Exception”

Admission by Exception is granted to a very small percentage of applicants who do not meet the UC transfer requirements. Such factors as academic accomplishments in light of your life experiences and/or special circumstances, socioeconomic background, special talents and/or achievements, contributions to the community, and the quality of your personal statement are taken into consideration. UCSC does not grant exceptions for the required courses in English composition or mathematics.

@softballkc: If you wrote a badass essay, don’t worry too much.

haven’t found out from UCSC or SD. wow. ***.

hahah it bleeped out “w.t.f”

@softball if I were you I wouldn’t stress it. I’d say you’re in. last year I saw people get in with 2.9’s. you’re fine :)

Softball – what is your major?

I’m going to assume UCSC is releasing their admissions every night from 12:00am-5:00am tiill April 30. So, good luck to those tonight–possibly.

yeah right^^ after last night in not checking anything anymore. I’d rather just wait and let it be a surprise than stress and be all full of anxiety. I’m just going to focus on my trip to Santa Cruz and my puppy, I had to take her to the vet today bc I noticed her nail was infected and digging in her skin. now she has to wear a cone, but she looks really cute in it lol

@lawlking- Man, I sure hope so! That would be nice. You’re waiting on UCSC too, correct? Where did you apply and which is your #1?

@UChappy- Aww, poor baby! We had to take my dog to get his shots today~ Rabies and DHLPP. Needless to say, he was sopping wet in the rain and NOT HAPPY! And I think you’re going to have to check MyUCSC eventually. Seems like they haven’t emailed anybody about their acceptances at all.

^^Yes, I am. I’m tagged to SB, but I’m still deciding between that or Irvine.

Nice, fellow dog owner here. My dog is getting his balls chopped soon. He has peed on my backpack several times to mark his territory.

^Did you say on another thread that you were interested in UCSD as well? Good luck to you! As for your dog, he’ll probably still pee on the carpet even after he has been castrated…lol. If that ever happens, just stick his nose in it to make a point and it won’t ever happen again. Dogs HATE being forced to be around their bodily excriments. Works like a charm!

@kingdom shots are never fun lol my dog is such a baby about everything. she did good at the vet today though, I was surprised. Ill check my portal here and there but I’m not staying up till 3 anymore that was such a waste and I was so sad :(

@lawlking I’ve had my male dog fixed years ago an he still pees on everything lol but he’s an outside dog so it’s only a problem when he runs inside unexpectedly

I am a graphic design major

for those of you that were not offered admissions…did you receive an email reminder to check your portal a few days before decisions came out that reminded you to check your portal? i received this email for santa cruz and was admitted but i did not receive it for santa barbara and i am wondering if there is a connection??

^^I did not receive any email from santa barbara and I am tagged with them

I tagged to SB as well and also did not get an email from them yesterday

Ssunshine I think its just cuz santa cruz sends out so many emails, I got that email but no change on my portal
