Really surprised. Last month I ended up dropping a major pre-req (as noted above), and I figured that put me at less than 90 quarter units and would void my TAG, so I emailed my UCSC Admissions Rep letting him/her know about my dropped class (didn’t intend to make it up in spring quarter). I got a reply saying I could try to make up the class if I wanted, but I decided not to. I even made the change on my UC App through the TAU. I dropped the course, updated my spring schedule, and made sure it was submitted. Clearly, I thought, they would be able to see that (plus the fact that I emailed and got a reply from the Ad Rep) and they could withdraw my app to possibly make room for a different applicant. Nope - I wasn’t even checking the MyUCSC portal, I didn’t know until I got the email later in the day. I assume they just dropped my TAG application and put me through in the “regular” sense? This doesn’t make sense to me since I thought TAG doesn’t even come into play until you’ve finalized everything with transcripts and all. . . Either way I won’t have the 90 UC-transferrable units (unless they are counting something I’m not) and I won’t be transferring to UCSC. I’m ending my second year at CC and I know that I can take that major pre-req and finish IGETC (and TAG again) if I take another year, but I’m not willing to do that. I’d rather transfer to a CSU that accepted me than wait a whole year at CC.

Best of luck to everyone else!

EDIT: changed GPA from 3.97 to 4.0. 3.97 is cumulative, which includes an A- in a non-UC-transferrable College Algebra course.

still waiting… zz ■■■ ucsc : (

@socaltransfer14
Same here, my last name starts with an L and according to UCSC they should’ve started posting at 3AM and my status is still pending. I got in UCSD as well though!

@sunfulgirl
I’m pretty sure UCSC releases their admissions in waves for transfers.
They started today but decisions can be released anywhere from today until mid-late April.

Good luck!

Congrats to everyone! I’m still Waiting on mine decision though, but fortunately I got my acceptance to UCSB! so i’m glad I have somewhere to go other than UCR!

@sunfulgirl

Congrats! I also found out I got in to UCSB too so today suddenly became great haha. UCSC can take their time now.

@AnthroFlo
Yup. I realized that they must be releasing in waves the moment I saw my status pending. Thanks!

@socaltransfer14
Thanks! I’m in the same boat as you, I also got in UCSB as well and not as anxious for UCSC’s decision lol.

Hey, I’m unfamiliar with the UC portals and am having a hard time navigating to the window that would show my status. When I click on application status I get a page that shows the times in which they will be releasing decisions…does this just mean that my status in still pending?

Yup, I think that means it’s still pending because it’s showing that for me as well, and I haven’t received any news yet.

Decision: Accepted

UC GPA: 2.7 (updated 2.68)
Major Pre-reqs Completed (Y/N): N (i want to be a nutrtion major for Davis so i dident finish/start physics)

IGETC?:Yes

Applied for Financial Aid?: No
State (if domestic applicant): California
Ethnicity: Asian
Gender: Male
Estimated Family Contribution(EFC)/Income Bracket: Upper middle
Attending Transfer Admit Day? (if admitted): Not sure.

Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected (strengths/weaknesses): its actually a little shocking because my whole application essay talks about nutrition and food and how I did not give up when i first go rejected my senior year.

I applied last year… and I got into Uc santa cruz but because of a ■■■■■■ grade in math( statistics) that i needed for transfer my admission was revoked… I applied again this year for fall 2014… I can tell you that I waited and checked the website everyday until april 26 when admission finally let me know i had made it in… I’m not holding my breath this year to find out anytime before April26th— (i checked the portal anyway, of course:-) but no luck… most people will find out much later :slight_smile: I dont know why they just release them all at the same time instead of this trickle of acceptances… the waiting sucks… congrats to everyone who got in! to all those still waiting best of luck! and if youre rejected (or you get admitted and then get a ■■■■■■ grade and they reject you, like they did me ) APPLY AGAIN NEXT YEAR! I DID! :slight_smile: never give up your dream

Congrats on the others who got in! I’m surprised they even allow people under 3.0 to join in. But then again transferring has different requirements
