If it’s not impacted you should be fine:]

Has anybody called the admissions office?

Called admissions for what? Nobody’s been admitted yet, nor will be for ~5 months. They haven’t even reviewed our apps.

This might not be important but I noticed that the message many of you copied and paste from UCSD said:

“…next FOUR significant years of your life…”

while mine said:

“…next FEW significant years of your life…”

Letter doesnt mean anything we would have had some rejections already. We had plenty of rejections for the other campuses, some of which have basically the same but easier requirements.

Oh wow weird mine says “Few” too. Do you have all the requirements Berialove?

Huh, mine says “few” but I could have sworn it said “four”. Weird.

^ Mine also said “four” but when I checked it now, it said a “few”. I think they changed the message.

Yeah they changed the message:/

lol it’s the Great Housing Offer of 2009 conspiracy all over again!

@ lbc123

yes i have all the requirements.

maybe they did change the message.

weird.

Hahah we ALMOST had a leak. Ok guys Im signing out until April I aint playing the housing message game again this year, or the sign-up-for-transfer-day game either.

Good luck guys

Hahaha I would follow you, but I know I won’t be able to stay away.

ok so this is what i’ve heard so far.
They are not reviewing our TAGs, and instead are just telling us to check the tag box on our application. Then they will review the classes and units we are taking/ going to take and determine if we are guaranteed. So basically, if you have a 3.0 and maintain that, and do your english and math classes by this semester, and complete 60 units by spring, you are guaranteed admission. They are not giving a definite yes because many students end up not taking certain classes or their gpa drops. So, right now you are basically guaranteed if you meet everything and continue it through til the end of the spring semester.

sarahhmoonn,

where did you hear this from? Did you call their admissions or something?

Yup, that’s pretty much it.

This “update” was worthless.

my friend told me. but it doesnt matter if they see the TAG app or not, really. If you complete all the requirements, the admissions will see that on your UC application, so you are in, even without them reviewing your TAG.
Still i know it is annoying not to have a definite answer. But that’s how it would be even if they did review your tag. Because they would still be able to take away your tag if you didn’t end up meeting the requirements. So, either way it doesn’t matter.

Is Econ impacted?

@sarahhmoonn (and everyone else)

Correct, UCSD is NOT reviewing the TAG apps this year. You aren’t even required to fill out a TAG app for them this year, as only the UC app will be used to determine TAG eligibility. This is “allegedly” changing next year to where UCSD will join with all the rest of the UCs and start using the TAG app, but it’s UCSD, so I wouldn’t bank on that happening.

So yes, this year, the TAG app means absolutely nothing for UCSD.

@isus: No, econ isn’t impacted. Only the biology majors and certain engineering majors are impacted.
