Is UF your first choice? Its one of my top choices!!!

It’s really exciting to have been picked to be a Florida Gator!! Congrats to everyone!

@ILikeYougurt Thanks, congrats to you too! But I won’t be able to commit to UF until I find out if I get accepted to my other choice which is another month away. Admission processes take so long :frowning:

P.S: Congrats to the rest of you future Gators!

Yeah I kind of figured, I mean it’s just mech classes and aero classes right? I think one extra year for an extra degree seems legit. I guess I have a while to decide anyways. Thanks for the advice!

Denied:(

2050 SAT 31 ACT 4.18 weighted GPA, 450+ community service hour, passed 5 APs(passed all exams with a 4+, and got all As or Bs) and 4 Dual enrollments. Involved in many clubs and sports at my school. Was fairly confident with my essay.

I honestly have no clue what went wrong. UF was my dream school, and not getting in has honestly crushed me, especially since many have gotten in with less.

Anyone get into the innovation Academy?

Fall! @MsAjebutta

I’m happily doing the PaCE program. With all my AP’s I only have to do ~30 credits and will be done after two semesters, plus I still get to rush! Congrats to all my other baby gators!

Comments: I’m an IB Diploma Candidate which UF seems to really like when making their decisions as they have one of the highest percentages of IB students out of any school in the country.

CONGRATS TO EVERYONE WHO GOT ACCEPTED!!! UF is such an awesome school and I’m so glad I made the decision to come here last year. I’m so happy for you guys and hopefully you guys do decide to come to this school! Hope to see you soon in the Gator Nation!

For those of you who didn’t get it–it’s okay! Things happen for a reason and there are plenty of other schools out there. Don’t let this get to you!

And also for some of you saying you got into Summer B–it’s a good decision because UF requires you to take at least 9 summer credit hours to graduate and plus being here for Summer B allows you to get familarized on campus. I came for Summer B and I don’t regret it!

Next stop–UF Preview!! Congrats and Go Gatas!

For any future gators, here’s an overview:

-OOS (Texas)
-GPA: 4.30 weighted, 4.0 u/w
-SAT: 2200, ACT: 34
-Lots of EC’s, most revolving around theatre (president of thespian society, lead in musicals, etc.) and eating disorder awareness
-both parents attended UF (one for undergrad, one for MBA)

Didn’t think I would get in out of state but VERY pleasantly surprised!

Hey guys my name is Emily Long and I’m currently in the PaCE program. I’m a Journalism major who loves to talk so please if you (student or guardian) have any questions I’d love to answer them! I know this is confusing because it’s so new and you don’t know whether to take this or go somewhere else but I promise you it’s a wonderful program and UF is doing so much for us! My email is emlong812@gmail.com or you can find me on Facebook! There’s a PaCE Page for the class of 2020 on Facebook so join that!

@ILikeYogurt Not much to do with how many credits, not sure that’s part of the application but if you were curious here are my states:

Comments: Pretty happy that I got accepted. Congrats to all others who were accepted. If you didn’t get in, its ok. I know people hate it when other people say this, but it will get better. I got rejected by my early decision school and I was devastated at first, but now I think it was for the best since it motivated me to work harder on my other apps. Also, looking back, I do not think I would fit in with the other students. It is more important that you make the best out of your college experience than where you go to college.

Reflection:
Where else were you accepted/deferred/rejected: Accepted: FAMU(Full ride), UF. Deferred: Cornell

UF is truly my number one school choice and I was a little disappointed that I was put in the PaCE program I mean it doesn’t sound appealing. I’m grateful that I did not get fully rejected but it seems like the PaCe program is a deferment or gap year program of sorts. Will I actually feel like a gator and get to be apart of the gator experience? I feel like there is no point in my going to UCF AND UF online for an entire year? It is kind of like going to UCF anyways?? Can I go to Santa Fe get my AA there and live in Gainesville and do the 15 credit UF Online requirement? I just can not spend an entire year at my house being a transient student at UCF? Plus I am horrible with online classes so the whole 60 hours is NOT going to happen all online.Anyone else considering doing PaCE? Is UF Online in this thread?

I got in for pace and honestly you have to think about the pros of it. Yes, you won’t get in the traditional way. However, it’s 25% less on tuition. In total, a year at UF from what’s on their website is 20 thousand. You’ll be saving a lot! Besides you’ll be able to get a job while schooling! I was disappointed too! It felt like being waitlisted. Yet now that I’ve looked at the pros of it I’m highly considering it. You could be done so that you enter in the fall 2017. Then you have sophomore, junior, and senior year at UF. It’s only one year and in the long run, you’ll be saving money!

ACCEPTED!!!

Date Applied: 1st day app was out
Unweighted GPA: 3.77
Weighted GPA: 4.33
UF GPA (If you calculated it): might have been wrong, but around a 4.5
SAT: didn’t send
SAT II’s: didn’t send
ACT: 33, with two 36s on English & reading
State Of Residence: FL
Male / Female: Female
Summer or Fall: Fall
Class rank: 33/425
AP’s: about 12 I think
Extra Curriculars: I think this is what really got me in. I’ve had A LOT going on & have been doing it all with leadership positions for the past 4 years. Some specifics: Class President for 3 years, NHS President (VP last year), ITS leadership all four years, Interact leadership, NEHS Secretary, involvement in multiple other honor societies, VERY active in theatre & very successful in theatre & theatre competitions, (I’m playing Mary Poppins this year!! Wooh!), have had a job for the past year and a half, was an ambassador for my city for 6 years, have a lot of public speaking experience & I geared all my activities and my schedule toward my desired major!
Senior Schedule: 5 APs & Theatre IV Honors
Other schools you applied for: FSU, UCF, Alabama, Stetson (accepted to all! Yay!)
Major/Field of Study: International Studies
Comments: SUPER EXCITED! I come from a big Gator/Seminole rivalry extended family so it’s exciting to pick a side now!

That 32% doesn’t reflect Summer admits or programs like IA, PaCE, etc. We’ll have to wait a few days for the official numbers.

Go Gators!

D Accepted. 30ACT 4.6 GPA 9 ap/aice/Dual Enrollment
Going to Penn State though
best advice for future kids applying.
UF has an excellent dual enrollment program. She took 2 classes online through dual enrollment.
UF admissions said they took almost all Dual enrollment applicants so long as they got A’s.

@gator88ne the UF Admission twitter page said they had over 32000 applications and 13400 acceptances. This comes out to 42% but they didn’t specify if this included Pace but im pretty sure it includes summer and fall.
