Comments: Both of my parents attended/graduated from UF so I’m hoping that’ll help a little:). I also chose the teenage advice essay but wrote about being a teenage military brat and advice on how to deal with that. Soo nervous but we only have a little less than a month
Your scores are somewhat on the bubble, but you have some nice strong ECs and strong academic work in highschool. If your essay hits it out of the park I like your chances. Also I see you got into some other great schools.
Good luck!
@Trisherella was your response for me or the one above??
For you Imelen. I think students in your range of scores are certainly qualified and would be good candidates, but you need to have more than that to vault into accepted status. I like your ECs and strength of coursework, so I’m hoping your essay is also strong and puts you over the top. Really with mid-range scores (where my son’s also are) you can’t assume one way or the other, you can only hope for the best.
@Trisherella thanks so much! Good luck to your son’s as well

Comments: I am a National Merit Semifinalist if that helps at all. What are my chances of getting in?
Emily, just remember to keep that GPA up, it will be one of the most important things, along with your test scores on the MCAT. Don’t be afraid to use the university resources, e.g. help on writing papers etc. As a top-notch student I’m sure you’re strong in writing, but sometimes in transitioning to the college life students don’t always know what professors are looking for. If you let the writing center folks give you tips on a paper before you turn it in, you can avoid an unnecessary bad grade early on.
Since we have to update ssar for fsu, will uf just not even care or will they be mad that we did since it says not to.
@soyunchico whatever updates you make now are not sent to UF
@Trisherella Do I have a chance at UF? Read my post above. Thanks!!!
@sdsupride Anything is possible, but your ACT is really going to hold you back.
@sdsupride didn’t you say that you were already accepted and officially committed to SDSU in another thread? Why would UF matter at this point? Not trying to sound mean or anything, just curious.
@PupuLovesPickles OMG people take my posts so seriously. I am just curious to know since I have always been a Gator fan. I just want to know if I get in to my football school.
