nope, that's cypress bay. i don't think either flanagan or western has more than 3000 students

Thanks moose. I decided to look up the exact numbers.

Flanagan: 3085
Western: 2502
Cypress Bay: 5248

Now I understand why they capped the enrollment there. My next question is how does your school support so many students? Thats the size of a small college.

the campus itself is the size of a small college, lol. then there is a portable annex for freshmen, which alleviates the main campus of about 1200 kids. regardless, the school simply has too many students. they've recognized that though and a new high school is under construction nearby.

Thanks for the info. Yeah they are constructing West Broward High (close to sawgrass mall). I wish they were more original with the name.

no problem.. i wouldn't doubt that the school I attended is a source of my rejection. i've been in contact with admissions officers and all they consistently tell me is they had too many qualified applicants for admission spots.

Did you appeal the decision? Our school's website said that if you contacted UF after March 3rd they would e-mail you a form so you could appeal their decision.

2007 admission:
42% accepted
SAT: 1210-1400
GPA: 4.0-4.4

very modest difference considering only 37% were accepted this year. something had to give, but apparently it wasn't academics.

also, 10158 were accepted last year. why the hell were even more admitted, when the yield rate is only supposed to grow even more this year??

Just to give you an idea of the 2008 class:

2008 admission:
36.92% accepted
SAT: 1240-1410
GPA: 4.1-4.4

Its funny to see the acceptance rate decreasing like it is.

Idk if you guys have seen any news on Florida, but the university is severely suffering with debt. The university thought that by admitting more students, they would be making more money. However, since Florida's fees are so low, each additional student will cause the university to lose more money.

I am just glad to be in the university now, and enjoying the upperclassman life =P
