Can someone clarify – does this mean what we think:
The One UGA Scholarship provides $1,500 per year in addition to a Presidential Waiver for the full difference between resident and non-resident tuition and fees. The scholarship and Presidential Waiver are paid over eight semesters of full-time undergraduate enrollment (or until the completion of your bachelor’s degree, whichever occurs first). This award may be renewed annually as long as you maintain a cumulative 3.0 UGA grade point average.

Congratulations to everyone who was accepted! And, if you were deferred or denied, remember that are too many qualified applicants for a limited number of spots – it’s not a reflection of your personal worth! Go Dawgs!
@Waldo755 Applicants are only put into consideration for the Honors Program after they are accepted to the university – so usually between now and the end of December all those who are chosen for the program will get a separate notification telling them they have been admitted to Honors. Apparently, usually somewhere between the top 10 and 15 percent of applicants are accepted to the Honors Program. Also, if applicants are not automatically admitted to the Honors Program they can (A) apply for Honors during the spring of their senior year in a separate application or (B) apply to Honors during the first semester of their freshman year at UGA (my impression is that this is the most competitive of the Honors processes). Disclaimer: I’m pretty sure about this, but there’s still a chance I’m wrong. I don’t think I am, but don’t take everything I’m saying here as cold hard fact. I hope this helped, and good luck with UGA Honors!

ACCEPTED EARLY ACTION with Classic Scholarship (out of state scholarship that totals to over $37,000)!
White female
ACT: 31 (Math 27, English 34)
UGA GPA: 4.2
AP’s: 2 (the most my school offers freshman-junior year is 2 so it was the max)
Lots of honors and pre-ap classes
Small, private school in Texas with rigorous curriculum
Does not rank
Honors notifications are usually mailed mid Dec. Please remember that Honors looks at subsections of ACT scores. Math and English. My d had an ACT of 34 but her subscore total was 32.5. She was not auto admitted to Honors and I was shocked. ( Perfect GPA, Salutatorian) . She was later auto admitted in January through her application for the foundation fellowship. A few kids who are not invited to the interview weekend are awarded other Honors scholarships ( which i was not aware of till it happened to her) and she was auto admitted.

@g8rmomk8ans - sorry to hear about your daughter’s deferral. What were her best Math and English sections of the ACT. As UGA only counts the Math and English sections, perhaps her score is better than a 30.
Also, what is her UGA GPA? You can calculate it using these instructions. Also, does she expect good grades this fall? If so, perhaps here GPA can improve. Best of luck to your daughter.
@yourmomma - truthfully, I bet you just missed the cut. Your UGA ACT is actually a 31 ((35+27)/2), which is slightly below the EA admitted average of 32. Also, your UGA GPA of 3.86 is below the average of 4.11. You also only took 2 APs (although, you did two of the tougher ones). Does your school not offer more APs? Will you have good grades this fall? Do you have good Extracurriculars? Good luck - I bet you make it RD.
